Growatt fault code 4

All I am still getting is the three lights on the front flashing. The screen itself isn't coming on either.

bummer, past my experience. hopefully watts24/7 or signature solar will help. unfortunate a firmware update gets you here. good luck! thanks for the update, I will continue to follow...

Ian has been excellent.. great guy!

Signature solar I have left vms weeks ago and no return.

I spoke to growatt themselves on Friday and they told me to do the update. I am thinking of going with a different brand.

Doing an update when unit 'thinks' it has a low battery is risky, not that they'd tell you..

In the world of cars it's procedure to hook up a battery charger to a car during a software update not just to make sure it doesn't fall below 12.0v or something like that, but to make sure it stays well above 13! Which to me is basically admitting that the writing process is 'unreliable' at normal voltages.

Even if the unit really isn't receiving low voltages, it would probably talk itself out of functioning if it happened to experience the code 4 fluke during a rewrite. ?

Also if it's a split phase unit the % it shows might be the percentage capability of the phase you're using when the other one has no activity? Just guessing there..

hope you find a good resolution!

If you would DM me your email address and phone number I can have a technician get in touch with you today and see if we can help you out.

I have spent most of the day on the phone back and forth with signature solar, growatt and watts247.

Though we were unable to fix it over the phone or anything, Ian is shipping me a new control board.

Ben was able to have a tech call me. The tech went through and tried to reprogram it to no success. I will say this, with the amount of help I got from signature solar today, I would definitely buy from them. Jarret over at sig solar has been very helpful today.

Very nice, hope to get ya back up soon. Bummer that firmware upgrade bricks the control board. I will not be upgrading my firmware any time soon...

Let me figure out how I can show my emails from growat on here. They are a complete pain to deal with. I have been asking for a phone call for the past 2 hours but all they will do is email me. I won't be buying another grow what it will probably be an EG4

I received my control board from Ian today. It took me about 20 minutes to install it. 5 minutes of that was looking for a screw I dropped. It's all back together and charging.

I can start a new thread but don't really want to..

It's been 4 days since I installed the new control board. Unless I'm not doing something right, the batteries haven't fully charged since doing so. The light is continually flashing as charging until it gets dark. I have crown 390ah lead acid batteries. And no grid power.

My 6000T doesn't hit 100% most times, not sure why the growatt has battery coms with EG4 lifepower. your lead acid is not communicating with inverter and must look at voltage. what does battery voltage look like at end of day?Screenshot 2022-10-30 3.31.29 PM.png

my solar backs off as battery fills, and here battery is at 99% by 11am and stays there.

It is showing 50.5. During the day it has been showing anywhere from 55-58 v charging.

Not sure where the Growatt is getting a battery percentage from. Voltage looks ok for lead acid. Is there any absorbing time? The lead acid needs that to get fully charged, you should review Crown charging spec and make sure your charging profile is correct for the lead acid.
