Lithium Prices Plummet As Global Supply Concerns Diminish

Amazon outside of the states is too expensive re postage.
So Ali is my cheapest option, most of the brands mentioned above aren't available there.

Having spent loads of time seeking teardowns reviews on utube, Below are the most recommended brands I found, all others on Ali seem utter junk, *(as in may not even hold charge).
I was surprised to see many sold as new have used cells inside.

Warranties seem only of value, as the makers recommendation, their return post to China would be too expensive for this weight.

Feel free to criticize any of them. I'll probably be buying soon. So any info is useful.
I assume many of the Amazon brands are available under different brand names on Ali, so maybe some may look familiar?

Buy DEESPAEK 12V 10Ah LiFePO4 Battery, Rechargeable Deep Cycle Lithium ...

LiitoKala 12.8V 60AH LiFePO4 배터리 리튬 전원 배터리 4000 사이클 12v 자동차 라이터 캠핑카 골프 ...

I felt Will's teardown on LiitoKala was a little unfair.

Haven't search any info on JSD, but reviews look promising, (I was planing on starting small, ok to waste ~$100 rather than $1000's).

I think that Fly power make the Moseworth batteries. I have a Moseworth that has been cycling for 3 months. So far so good.

DJLBERMPW 12 volt, 100AH batteries:
An update on these batteries purchased off Amazon for $167 with free shipping.
I have all 8 of them on a rack.
I tested two of them in my unheated garage with temps in the 40's and they tested to just slightly more than 100 ah.
I now have all of them in a heated space in my basement on a rack.
I finished testing the remaining 6 batteries and they all tested at more than 105 AH in this heated space.
I'm happy.

Could do three 48V banks of 5kWh each, 15kWh delivered for $2000.

Love to see someone do the math to figure out at what price (per KWH) vs price per KWh from the utility it makes sense to cut the cord (disconnect from the grid).

There is almost certainly "a number", especially for those paying 20c or more per KWH from the power company. But I'd love to know where it is; I feel like we're only a few years out if battery prices keep falling like this until it really may make financial sense to have the power company come and pull the meter.

they keep making it harder and harder to not to pull the trigger on building a LifePO4 battery pack.

$30 delivery charge on that one.

Yep, right now they are holding prices a bit. For a while I was buying them for $167 with free shipping.

But they are adding features. Bluetooth and low temp protection for $180. That's a big drop.

Keep an eye on Amazon and Ebay. Periodically they drop prices $30 or more for a period of time.

We will soon see plain jane 100AH batteries for $150 delivered.

Seems inevitable we'll get 48V 100Ah server rack style at ~$700 at some point, maybe heated at $800.

So as you know I watch the prices of packaged batteries like the 12v, 100ah units on Amazon and Ebay.

Last night I was doing it again and when I got on Amazon I did a search for 12v 100ah Lifepo4 as I usually do, a bunch popped up.
I sorted them by price (which works, sort of, sometimes) and started looking. Huh, no coupons, prices were all very much the same. Not what I was seeing a few weeks ago. I keep looking, ok, found some that were under $200 but not much. What happened to the coupons?? Nothing.
I go look on Ebay, nothing special to report there. Go back to Amazon, the same.

I remembered that I have in the past, I have done searches outside of Amazon for "Low cost 12v 100ah LiFePo4" via google and had some decent results. So I do the same. Some sites that congregate adds for Amazon show up. I click a few that drive me back to Amazon, repeat....

Hey, discount coupons are beginning to appear on batteries that previous had no discounts. By the time I was done looking most of the batteries had coupons attached in the Amazon view. Crazy.

So Amazon is starting to do some new things I believe. Or I didn't notice this before.

Looks like if you exercise searches into Amazon from outside sources, they will start enabling coupon codes and coupons within Amazon.

So they are upping the game!

Amazon has always been slippery about prices, but this is at a whole different level. All of this happened within 30 minutes or so. I go from batteries with no discounts, to most batteries with discounts. They are making this more of a challenge!

I wonder if a Web BOT that could exercise searches into Amazon from Google or some other search engines could get even better discounts?
I've done just a bit of Bot programming but I bet some of you out there could do this much better than me.

I bet this would work with many things that Amazon sells.
