    Existing Cabin Panel

Nice, 450Voc would certainly be useful. Does your powmr mppt remain charging when inverter is off? Or is that only the 100Voc versions?

    Existing Cabin Panel

Yes they do indeed have a great price. Honestly I'm tempted to buy one myself to try it out. The biggest issue I see with the built in CC is both the Midnight and the SRNE units we have been discussing here have 100V max PV input. With todays panels, it can be difficult to stay under 100V on a...

Ahh, thank you for your Renogy confession  I have heard the same, Renogy inverters are the only decent Renogy product. Being a rebranded SRNE makes sense. Good to hear they are not ultra sensitive to overloads. The integrated SCC is what I dislike about all of the AIO units. It leaves you...

Curious, what is the rebranded name of the inverter?

    Existing Cabin Panel

Using the OP's measured 32A inrush current, I think the SRNE or Midnite 3k AIO would start the pump but it's so close to the limit I'm not sure I'd do that on purpose while in the design stages. Midnite lists 4500W surge and from what I've read that's only for 1-2 seconds. Then build in some...

Sungoldpower 48v 6000w low frequency inverter

They usually don't recognize small loads. My Aims takes something over 200W to kick on, so I don't use the power saver feature.

The regular Multiplus 24/3000/70 has a peak power of 6000W. That should start your pump without an issue. It appears the Multiplus II does have lower peak power at 5500W (still that should be ok). I dont see the duration spec'd in writing, so id take their word on 10 seconds. Perhaps...

The Midnite Diy 3024 is a high freq SRNE inverter. Good units but its not going to like that pump startup.

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

Fyi the battery temp sensor on the Midnite will not be used on LFP batteries. Its for raising or lowering the voltage based on temp for lead acid chemistry batteries.

New Multiplus 3000/12v (NOT MULTIPLUS II) GFCI Tripping when in charge mode at only 6 amps DC (90 Watts)

Is the multiplus grounded to the camper frame Is the original AC converter in the camper still in use? Does the camper breaker panel have its own neutral ground bond?

    Solar panels cause bad weather.

I remember seeing an experiment with plumbing pvc across the top of panels with holes drilled to flow water down them to increase output

SunGold PureSineWave 3000W inverter/charger error on installation startup

This is valid, the power saver features on these generally don't work the way you want them to. They usually require a large load to wake up the inverter. For instance turning on lights wont be enough to activate it, but a well pump would. I agree in turning power saver off.

    Renogy Scum!!!!!

Ok just seemed suspicious. I hope they follow through! It not uncommon practice for shady companies to kick you down the road until warranty expires.

An Off grid AIO I would like to see.

Sure, this method requires some manual switching and some direct monitoring, but for off grid, at the end of the day the CC really doesn't need to communicate with the Inverter and so on, other than for a nifty screen full of data. A key component may be getting a MPPT with AGS capability, or an...

An Off grid AIO I would like to see.

In the DIY spirit, why not make your own pre-wired panel? I do this often for customers and actually prefer it over AIO units. I did one sort of like you described using a 6K Aims split phase UL listed inverter charger, a Midnite Classic 150 MPPT and a pair of IOTA DLS 27-40's. The Aims unit...

24v Bank Dead - upgrade to 24v LiFe or scrap system for 48v - WANTED recommendations

Does that inverter power all your needs? If so then i would agree to stay 24V. Id recommend Trojan SPRE-06-415 for replacements. Besides if you get 8 batteries now, they could do either 24v or 48V all the same. The Midnite Classic will do both voltages. The big decision comes if you ever buy...

    4x agm 100ah to 48v charge/discharge rate?

Theres no good answer here, you have a really big truck with a really small gas tank. Not enough battery for that solark 15 to be useful

My First System is Up and Running

Yes, im a huge fan of midnite products. However I like Magnum panels for their inverters. They have ventilation through the wiring area and the little roof on top to keep clearance. The Midnite panels have the inverter mounted on the door, this has kept me from ordering one, those Magnum LF...

No it doesn't. You posted $259 for 250ft at home depot, Thats $1.03 per ft. You can order it online for $0.70 per ft and only get the lenght you need. You pay more at Home depot. Home depot needs to be verified each time, some times they are good other times they are not. Locations vary the...

Small off-grid cabin system design (in reverse?)

Just my 2 cents... im a fan of 24V, its great for smaler systems. If your demands arent too high, Its a good balance of battery quantity and cable sizing. Im also a lead acid fan! Though not so much AGM, they just dont like to be deep cycled. If they are in a shed or garage, Id recommend 6V...

    150 ft 20 amp copper 2 wire..

You ran a cost comparison with 2 gauge MHF vs. 12awg THWN didnt you? No. Any electrical supply company sells by the foot. Dont go to home depot for wire. I did but minus the conduit because its needed for both wire types. Plus above ground routing will be different for everyone so not worth...

    150 ft 20 amp copper 2 wire..

To do a comparison we at least need to use the same wire size... Using your figures for 12 awg @ 150ft run (minus the above ground conduit as its required for both wire types) = $202.00 150ft of 12/2 UF-B = $105 Now that being said, adding a second run, is just the cost of the wire: 12awg...
