    AC power disconnect questions

So I'm building an off-grid house... At about 25 ft from the house I will have a shed that houses the following equipment 4x MPP solar lv6548s 1x 304ah eve cells 16s with jdb 200a smart bms 1x 280ah eve cells 16s with jdb 200a smart BMS Eventually I will add a third and a fourth battery...

36v Golf Cart Solar Conversion Questions

1.) Yes but it's not ideal... It'll probably get you to 80 or 85% charge 2.) they should work fine but if you can fit a fourth that would be better 3.) EP ever makes a great 40 amp charge controller but you need to make sure that it's compatible with 36 volts... If not they make a 50 and 60...

    Lv6548 x4 in split phase

Oh yeah I see I had that confused I was thinking of inverter 1 and inverter 2 as a split face pair but really it's inverter 1 and inverter 3 as a split phase pair

    Lv6548 x4 in split phase

Now what happens if I want to shut half of the system down during part of the year... Can I just shut off inverters three and four on the right... Or do I need to completely reconfigure the system?

    Lv6548 x4 in split phase

I'm not sure if I found the correct configuration I have four LV6548s I would like to configure them split phase 240 volt... It should be a little over 100 amps I think I found the correct configuration in the manual

    Questions about bus bar sizing

Appreciate it. I think this makes more sense. Thank you so much for helping me confirm what I was thinking... It almost makes me want to overbuild it a little further and have a huge safety margin

    Questions about bus bar sizing

But then there's another thought... Do I really need to carry the full load of all the inverters or even of all the batteries for that matter? Let's say that I have a bus bar that is rated for say 300 amps, so, 50mm wide and 5mm thick... And theory if I placed The battery terminal of battery 1...

    Questions about bus bar sizing

So I'm really trying to understand best bar sizing... I've seen a couple different ways to look at it Some people say that you need to look at what your maximum current of all items put together could possibly add up to Other people say you need to keep in mind which direction current is...

    Feeding 4x LV6548.

Kind of thinking about just building bus bars... I have a nice drill press... So it wouldn't be hard

    Feeding 4x LV6548.

I'm getting ready to start planning my build with 4, MPP solar lv6048's These are 48 volt, 6500 watts So I figured each unit will pull up to 160 amps 6500w ÷ 0.85 = 7647w 7647w ÷ 48v = 159 amps So we could call that 160 amps per unit... I think this is a conservative rating as the unit is...

LV6548... Shutting down after 20 seconds...

Okay I was able to get all four of them reprogrammed and tested... One thing I did notice is that the first time you connect to these units you have to flick the breaker once or twice ... I assume that's because large capacitors are filling up and there's too much inrush current for the breaker...

LV6548... Shutting down after 20 seconds...

I forget exactly what the setting was but it seemed to be a two-phase setting of some sort... When I get everything actually set up I do plan to use it in two phase... But for now I just want to test all four units and single phase to make sure that they're functioning

LV6548... Shutting down after 20 seconds...

I'm trying to figure out how to take these units out of split face mode I have four of them that were previously used in split phase mode... And now when they boot up they're expecting to see the other phase and when they don't see it they shut down Takes about 20 seconds to shut down but I...

Total Noob wants to run a mini fridge

Well I would suggest getting a high quality unit preferably something that has an inverter driven compressor To give you an idea my RVs fridge is effectively a 12 volt mini fridge when it's not running on propane it's a peltier That thing will suck anywhere from 400 to 600 Watts and never...

280Ah cells with low capacity - can I still use them?

I would set them up as two separate batteries with two separate BMSs... The big advantage to that is that if one of them goes down you can still use your equipment... But you also have twice the available current on tap at any given time

280Ah cells with low capacity - can I still use them?

Ultimately what your question is is can you have two packs that are different capacities in parallel I think right? If I'm understanding the question correctly then yes you absolutely can I have one pack that is 1,300 amp hours and another that is 460 amp hours... They're in parallel and they...

Safely balancing batteries with different SoC

It's really not that big of a deal... Just attach them in parallel and let them sit for a little bit and they will balance to each other I actually have a 460 amp hour (230ah, 2p4s) in parallel with a 1,216 amp hour (304ah 4p4s) battery... Oftentimes the smaller battery will finished charging...

    Outback Solar gvfx3524 inverter/charger

Up for sale is a Outback Solar gvfx3524, 3500 watt, 24 volt inverter/charger This unit is tested and does work I attached 24 volts to the input and was able to get 120 volts on the output. Asking $450 but would rather trade it for a EG4 Chargeverter Linn valley, KS. 66040

    outback gvfx3524 inverter charger value?

I know they say it's designed as a grid tie unit... But just with playing with it I found that it'll power up just fine by applying 24 volts to the input and then you get 120 volts on the output I think it's more similar to a hybrid unit than a true grid tie unit

    outback gvfx3524 inverter charger value?

Recently acquired an outback gvfx3524 I was selling my brand new MPP solar LVX 6048 The gentleman didn't quite have enough money but he did have this outback GVFX 3524.. It's a 3,500 watt, 24 volt inverter/charger And more importantly it works But I'm just not quite sure what it's...
