Any news on THE ONE? Is it the one for me?

No major problem other than no web support or phone app. I like that it is 600v input. Price is kind of issue too. 2 or 3 6000xp seems the way to go.

Any news on THE ONE? Is it the one for me?

I have been a huge fan of Midnite solar. I got the hawks bay and now regret it. I have been waiting a year just to get a web access. im switching to EG4 600xp. ive been holding out for a newer version of 6000xp. maybe with a display like the 18k . But for the price I will get 3 of the 6000xp.

    EG4 6000XP MPPT Questions

Would this still be fine? Extreme scenario could one aray face East on one MPPT and the other face West on second MPPT? S Below is what the manual says. When sizing strings for each MPPT, they MUST be the same model, brand and # per string(series and parallel). All panels on a series/parallel...

    EG4 6000XP with SOK 48V 100Ah PRO VS EG4 LL

I will say nice to see support here this fast. That adds points in favor EG4.

    EG4 6000XP with SOK 48V 100Ah PRO VS EG4 LL

If EG4 cells were not welded I would buy them. Only thing that draws me to SOK is if I have a bad cell I can swap it easy. All components are easy to swap on those. on the EG4 LL what would it take to change a cell? 5 to 10 years down the road maybe some cells might have issues.

    EG4 6000XP with SOK 48V 100Ah PRO VS EG4 LL

Looking to put in a new system. Going with 6000XP. I like that SOK ability to service them. My place is way off grid in Baja Mex and could be really tough to ship back a complete battery. If the EG4 LL was serviceable I would stick with them. Has anyone had any issues with compatibility of the...

Picking brains...help with Engine swap to electric...32ft Cabin Cruiser

I really love this concept. so many redundancy. Even regenerate when sailing. Perhaps this is the future is hybrid. You have 2 generators or two direct drive motors. Or sails, or solar or even charge when sailing with regen. Wow im sold haha. This boat has two but I think one would still work...

2 Pole vs 3 pole DC breaker what's the difference?

Sorry for dumb question but in DC breakers what is the difference of 1,2 or 3 pole? In AC i know there are different voltage and phases but in DC thats no the case. example MNEPV30-600-2PP vs MNEPVRT30-600-3PP I know one has remote trip. I will have 3 strings of panles that are 600vdc at...

Does Server Rack Battery Orientation Affect Built-In DC Breaker Arc Quenching Ability?

I live in a hot climate and when I had smaller AGm batteries I put in a chest chest freezer cracked open on a controller set to 77deg worked well. Thinking about doing the same with server rack batteries. Wonder if they were in a special rack mounted good if they could be stood up in their...

BMS Recommendations, to monitor 24s via wifi?

What's wrong with BMS to only view voltage? Charger and balancer can be turned off. I looked at that victron and I would have to buy 24 of them. Also prob wont work down to 1.75volts. Daly 24s BMS is only 100bucks or so. Not sure how it stores data per cell. I would love to see a chart with...

BMS Recommendations, to monitor 24s via wifi?

Im a BMS newbie so need some help here. I have 24 large 2volt AGM batteries. Looking for a plug and play system to Monitor voltage to each cell. Looking for Wifi so I can view on my PC remotely. Also log history is important. They batteries are old and some are going bad. If I can watch the...

    Preparing for the heat...

I do that now in the LG app works great. All the AC in my house are on timers. Freezer and Fridge too. Tuya makes some nice 15amp wifi switches. Day time I have 26,000 watts to use so I freeze the house haha. Deep freezers on high. Then when sun goes down full conserve mode.

    Preparing for the heat...

I would love 80deg but they spike up to 95-97 in the evenings when the ac is shut off. Problem too is the small enclosure holds in the heat. I have a small vent but does not really do it. I might put a good extractor fan to turn on automatic or put on a wifi control switch to pull air from...

    Preparing for the heat...

Again nothing wrong. all day nice and cool. Im off grid so for 12-14 hours no AC. Different story if I had AC all night but that really cuts into the batteries. 6pm here is hot and humidity does make a difference even for batteries. All day I have 5 to 6 AC units running so the inverters are...

    Off grid completely

Pretty wild isn't it. I look at the solar panles on half my roof and running 5 air conditioners, internet, tvs, big aquariums, and much more. All from the sun hitting one little spot. Elon musk said only need 100 miles x 100 miles in nevada to power all of USA. And 1 square mile of batteries...

    Preparing for the heat...

It gets to 68 inside the area. But after I shut it all off there is still some stored heat. If I can get it to 60 deg I think will keep things cooler over night. Works decent now but bigger AC I think work help even more. Can get things cooler faster.

    Preparing for the heat...

Some tips from what I have leaned. I have a large off grid system. Each day we get close to 100deg but its also humid sometimes 70-80%. I insulated a battery room and also wanted to cool the inverters, batteries and controllers. Heat is bad not only for batteries but also electronics. All that...

Wiring for East / West Solar array

Yes all exact the same. I will try and track how much longer I can not dip into the batteries. Panels are cheap and last forever. If it works I might double up. Midnite solar has a nice desktop app and can see good history on a good visual chart.

Wiring for East / West Solar array

From what I understand this is how the parallel/series combination will work. East config 3 panles in series 1st string 3 more panels series 2nd string Combine 1st & 2nd strings in parallel West 3 panles in series 1ststring 3 more panels series 2nd string Combine 1st & 2nd strings in...

Wiring for East / West Solar array

We rarely get below 60 Deg here. I have 5 Midnite solar classis now and been here many seasons. So your east string in its self is in series correct? Then both strings are parallel? What this Diode?Im not worried about a flat curve through the day. I have a 100 panles flat on my garage so im...

Wiring for East / West Solar array

Day time I have a 100 panels flat so getting batteries full is no problem. I want max out sunrise and sunset because its so hot here we need Air Condition 24/7 in the summer. My question is how the panles are wired. I have 12 panles to work with. 6 east and 6 west. For voltage I put three in...

Can someone with a DALY Smart BMS help me out.

If anyone has a 24S 72V BMS can you tell me if it will power on with only 48v? I have 24 batteries 2V. ITs a 48V system. I only want to monitor voltage using the Daly BMS. My voltage range is 2.25v to 2.35v. I dont plan on charging at all for now. If it can charge thats a plus. Im just...

Recommendation for a BMS for large 2V 1800 AH AGM battery.

Can anyone tell me if a Daly Smart BMS voltage can be lowered from 2.25 to 2.35V ? Or can charging be turned off and just used to monitor each cell? If I get a 24S that says 72v will it even turn on if I only put 48V to it ? Or should I get a 13S that uses 48V and turn the charge output down...

Recommendation for a BMS for large 2V 1800 AH AGM battery.

Yes looks interesting. I can put any 12 or 24 charger and perhaps they balance the voltage. So hard to check 12 or 24 cells at once to spot just how bad a cell is. also hard to laod test a singe 2v cell. I plan to put 6000 watt inverter and try pull 6000 watts at once and monitor all the cells...

Recommendation for a BMS for large 2V 1800 AH AGM battery.

Top goal is just monitor so I can load test 6 batteries at a time with 12v inverter . So I can move the best batteries to the main 48v system. I have total 36 batteries 24 are using every day. The extra 12 trying to get nice and balance then put in the main bank. What I have been doing is hook...

Recommendation for a BMS for large 2V 1800 AH AGM battery.

haha sorry typo not 3.5v If cells are close to full and you set parameter of a voltage of 2.32 why would a BMS not work? If I set each cell to 2.32 with a Daly BMS what happens ? Not trying to charge from dead to full every day.

Recommendation for a BMS for large 2V 1800 AH AGM battery.

Have a unique situation. My main goal is track and log battery voltage on my PC. My batteries are UPS 2V and weigh 300lbs each. I have a main bank of 24 cells I run the house with. I have a spare set of 12 Batteries. This spare set I would like to charge full then us a BMS like a Daly LiFePo4...

Recommendations for stackable inverters with WIFI

Yes thats a good point. Thats one thing I have liked about Midnite solar is they have had the same controllers for years. They have the 5 year warranty and you can send it for service and add 2 more years. I had one fail and they replced fast and easy.

Recommendations for stackable inverters with WIFI

Yes thats what I think also. 3 units would handle 15k if I was down on power we could not run as much AC. Thats why I like stackable. I know my controller and inverter both get hot. Wonder how a all in one like growatt how hot they get. Growatt says 5 year warranty. Wonder if it it holds up or...

Recommendations for stackable inverters with WIFI

Growatt 5000 with high voltage input looks nice and can stack them too. 695 each is very cheap. 3 of those and keep one spare on hand I would be set. Strange you scan all the pages and the word "warranty" does not come up. Wonder how good service is? Shipping a unit back to china could get...

Recommendations for stackable inverters with WIFI

Yes Schneider is really nice but with options like growwatt and midnite solar I can have spares. For the Ac I will have all inverter ac. They dont have that big compresor hit. They turn on and slowly ramp up the power. If you keep them on low they will run less power vs 100% on and off like...

Recommendations for stackable inverters with WIFI

Looking for recommendations for stackable inverters. about 5000 to 6000 watts each. 2 maybe 3 units. In the summer I have 5 ac units running on a off grid home. But winter I dont consume much at all. Dont really want a controller built in. Looking for somthing with long warranty.
