EG4 6000ex reads much lower voltage than batteries?

The connects at the bars are all good. Lock tite is a wonderful thing. :) the he wife is working, so can't check at the inverter at the moment. I'll update when done. Thanks for the tip.

EG4 6000ex reads much lower voltage than batteries?

Im getting the actual voltage from the batteries which matches the Victron battery monitor that is connected in line with the EG4 at the bus bars. The inverter uses 0000 cable to the bus bars, and a 125 amp class T fuse on the + side. We're talking very short runs here, and oversized cables.

EG4 6000ex reads much lower voltage than batteries?

Why would the EG4 all of a sudden start reading .31 volts lower than the actual? This is a problem as the actual charging results have been .31 higher than the batteries max recommended amount. Note: As the bank is comprised of (12) 12v 220ah units wired in 3 series sets of 4 batteries, making...

    Genset autostart using key fob?

Didn't find a previous post specific to this. Have a genset that has a remote start key fob. To activate, you press the Start button twice to start, and a separate Off button to turn off (single press). On the generator itself, you must press the Start button twice to start it as well, once to...

EG4 6000ex-48 beeps when connect pv?

Went to connect a set of panels to it for the first time, and get a repeating beep on the EG4 all in one, but no fault code. Its just 4 x 380 watt in series. 181v at 9.41 amps. Way below the 500vdc max. Everything is in palarity is correct. I my try skipping the combiner box, but thought I'd ask...

    Never mind....got it. I'm just dumb... ?

    Head scratcher...RV install

That may have done it! I didn't have an automotive charger (gave to my son recently), so I just hooked it to the hummer with jumper cables. After a few minutes I attached the Victron to the second set of battery lugs and where it was showing 0 amps when "charging", it's now showing 3 amps and...

    Head scratcher...RV install

Good idea. Didn't try a small resistive load, like a 12v led light. You also suggest series the batteries and check voltage?

    Head scratcher...RV install

Yeah. Already did that, as my father-in-law wanted lights...lol. That's also why I went directly to the converter, skipping all the old wiring from the house battery location to make sure a bad ground or short wasn't an issue, but everything worked as normal on the old lead acid when put back in...

    Head scratcher...RV install

Good idea. I just looked at the website. No Bluetooth capability. The Faq was pretty sparce. I already submitted the problem to the support team, but as they're on China time I won't here back until tomorrow, and rather than an answer, it will probably a series of dumb questions from a script...

    Head scratcher...RV install

That's a good idea, but how do I test for that as it goes to zero without a load? When I connect anything, as I stated, a 300w inverter with no load on it, just connecting the leads, makes it go to zero. When I connect the Victron charger, it shows 14.4 volts, Absorb, but at 0.0 amps? Is it...

    Head scratcher...RV install

These are fortunately red/black. Also tried going directly to the convertor +/- with new wire from 3 feet away....same, but I had also tried a 300w invert directly off the battery with no load, and it went to 0v as well, and back to 12.4v when removed.

    Head scratcher...RV install

Picked up on Wills recommendation video a TimeUSB 220ah 12.8v lifepo4 battery The plan is to just replace the house battery with this unit. But, it appears the BMS has a different plan. When I connect it to the existing batteries location, the voltage drops to 0, and you can hear the BMS...

    Boondocking Camper set up

I just finished a similar (requirements) install on a customers Airstream. I was looking at a lot battery options for the project, and Will just happen to do a teardown of one of the batteries I was considering was (4) of the Lossigy 12v 200ah. The reason I chose that battery was that it was...

    Bluetooth apps

Well, I know that a number of venders use Chargepro 2.0 as there config tool. Renogy (Wander line believe) and Bougerv for sure, and probably more. They probably use the same Chinese bluetooth chipset, and backend config that the software is compatible with.

Can you rename devices in Charge pro 2.0?

I installed 3 mppt CC's which use Chargepro 2.0 to config. Problem is they all have the same device name in the list of devices within Chargepro, which is not only annoying but difficult to config the CC's. First time using it, so hoping there is a solution here. Thanks.

Less than the power company challenge!

One thing to consider is here in Georgia it gets very humid in the Summer requiring AC all the time. While over paneling will be needed to cover daytime consumption and still charge the batteries, about half of that 100kw of storage would be used in just AC alone (if no compromise was made) over...

Less than the power company challenge!

Well, we met the new neighbors today. They seem like really great people. We only spoke briefly, but planned a little get together for another day. They had noticed all the solar at my place and seemed intrigued, especially after they got a quote from the power company to get power where they...

Off grid is getting cheaper every day.

I too am in agreement with this statement. But as usual, when you mix politics and science, with the government giving out gobs of grant money looking for a result (as oppose to solid science) which they can use politically, you achieve nothing but bad data and bad policy. Look no further than...

Off grid is getting cheaper every day.

All things considered lead acid too has it market and production cost issues. Mainly being lead is no longer smelted/refined in the US, but primarily countries we have tenuous relationships with (china...). I personally also do not expect lifepo4 or even PV to get cheaper, only that it has...

48 volt aims inverter charger mistake??

I find no advantage to having an all-in-one unit. To many points of failure. My Aims inverter/charger has served us well over the past 5 years without issue. My array consist of 6 40amp mppt controllers, and have had to replace some of them more often than I like. But losing one, or even 2 (yet...

Off grid is getting cheaper every day.

Forklift batteries also have plenty of downsides. I know this because I replaced my 24v forklift battery after 3 years with the current lifepo4 setup. The battery was still serviceable but to much work and expense to maintain, as you will see below, and not enough usable power given the cost...

Off grid is getting cheaper every day.

Thought I got the pics up...sorry. Here are a few. I have since added the other 5 BYD packs to the top rack, 15 in all. Cleaning up the wiring and fuse placement still. Replaced the front Molex on each pack with a JST-XH 8s connector. Plugged in a cell meter on each which will be secured to the...

This may be a little too much DIY but.....

Code compliance is always a good target if you want, but many rural counties such as mine have code, be it state or local, but do not have enforcement of any kind, or interest in doing so. What about the millions of RV's, campers, or sail boats?

This may be a little too much DIY but.....

I can see many being in that same scenario, and UL is great regardless the end use, but I have no such limitations (other than not wanting my out-building battery/utility room burning down). That being said, there are opportunities for such a product if feasible, and I for one would be very...

This may be a little too much DIY but.....

I understand that some people need/want all the bells and whistles found in many of the inverters on the market today. I however, and probably many more, live off grid in some capacity and probably have very few needs. Mine being; 1) Reliable 2) Adjustable set point for low voltage disconnect...

Can I do 2 solar charge controllers in parallel for a single PV array?

Not sure why you would want to. But, more specifics are needed. Panal voltages, and scc input requirements. By splitting the load the voltage to the scc's would probably be below their minimum to function. You're showing 2 panels but three sac's? Just put one panel each on a cc and see if that...
