@Will Prowse I would be very interested to know with all this Overloaded/Stressed electric grids in Texas and elsewhere and push for more PEVs if any of these vendors /manufacturers, etc are putting any pressure on legislation, lobbying, etc to ease some of these over reaching power company...

@Markus_SignatureSolar ... any word on what FW's or if latest v22 or v23 fw will support parallel these 8k's together? (I'm sure my dad will be looking to do so at some point)

Me too. It would help us have some better understanding of the longevity/reliability of the unit if more people that are using it posted back as well. I hope that EG4 /Signature Solar / MegaRevo are still working on FW improvements, etc... (v22 is working well for our usage scenario) ie Does...

Post 5 to edit: See our Setup Post here and Grid Charge Issue here. Went back and checked dad's panel layout ... You called it... significant shading until about 1-2pm, & didn't realize panels/Rack was that far back in the property... Will have to figure something out,... Maybe see if neighbor...

Post 1 - to edit: I got pulled in after my 71 yr old dad tried to get the 1st unit up and running. He spent a good bit of their 401k on this trying to get some piece of mind against grid failures, etc. (Tried to get him to go with the SolArk 15k , but it was out of their budget... & wasn't...

Just wanted to grab a few posts (6-10) and work on doing a roll-up in one spot of what's gone into getting a working EG4 8Kw / MR R8KLNA inverter setup for my dad's house. I will add that this has been a bit of a learning curve for us even though dad (John4178) has some residential...

Similar.... EG4 8KLNA Inverter (fw v22) = id 1 EG4 LP4 batteries: batt 1 = id 0 (connected to the inverter) batt 2 = id 2 batt 3 = id 3 batt 4 = id 4 batt 5 = id 5 batt 6 = id 6 Not sure what version the batteries actually are ... or the current fw on them at the moment until I can get back...

Dad's EG4 8k setup is on fw v22 which seems to be working fairly well now. No apparent issues with the 6x EG4 LifePower4 battery comms on our end (RS485 direct to 8k inverter... Haven't update battery fw yet). See 2 posts above for our setup.

Just for my own curiosity/learning, what values/data set are you looking at that show whether or not (and when) you're exporting to grid? (So I can keep an eye on dad's 8k unit)

I never thought about the fw on the dongle... How do you check it and how to update it? Not sure I have any instructions/info aside from the lines page or two in the EG4 manual

Looks like you're on v23 (I just loaded v22 to get advanced menus working. (Supposedly there's an issue with Generator /AC Coupling feature on v22) What were the issues you were having and what was supposed to be fixed with v23? @fromport seems to be keeping track of them here.

Anyone willing to clarify what's I see via the monitoring app as to why realtime graphic shows 540w of solar production ... But the device statistics at the same time shows 1110w of combined PV input? Why the difference? Where the rest going?

I thought the same thing... The values the CTs are to determine Zero Export change significantly based on where they're placed... Mine are currently placed at the output of the 40A main panel breaker which means it's only trying to zero out what I'm pulling to the inverter's grid tie input...
