None of this is my setup. I didn’t have rails in this area (SnapNrack top speed) and the entire wire went into house and down into inverters from the string.

I used the EZ Solar JB Rooftop options... yes the price sucks, but you need to make sure this is water tight... I wouldnt rig something up with the pipe flashing unless you know exactly what you're doing. The EZ box fit perfectly under my panels and was pretty easy to install.

Oh one more note - the west facing slope with no panels is a 10/12 pitch, 2+ story high and has a pipe jack dead center... I did consider panels but it would have been extremally difficult to get anymore than 6 installed.

I have the panels that are hit by the shadow on their own string... the top row and left side are on their own string... this helps isolate the shadow panels... In the summer time this shadow is pretty much gone

That fireplace is the only thing heating the house If electricity isn’t available. It’ll save me in an emergency.

I dont get anywhere near the 27KW rating since i have east/south/west facing... right now with bad sun angles i get 12-14kw during peak...but this design allows an even production throughout day.

I have turned off grid and it’s handled 12k no problem but it’s hard to replicate this level of usage. All depends on my hvac

I have main electric (200amp x2) going into shutoff switches... from there they go to each inverter and out to the 200amp panels

Yes, I know the wiring isnt perfectly cleaned up yet - 400amp service, both 200amp electrical panels have one inverter with 200amp pass through.

I also have 400amp service. 200amp panels x 2. I recently installed 2 x 200amp shut offs outside and ran grid into each EG4 18KPV inverter using their 200amp pass through. One per 200amp electric panel. Not sure if this is the best way, but its working great so far.

The wall is 12ft, but the total area is under 10ft the batteries take up. These are not inspected, however the code is 3ft width room for main panel which this meets. 9ft would be cutting it close

Come on don’t be rude. It’s a trim piece which cleans up the install look. It’s spaced off the roof along with plenty of air flow. If there’s any extra heat it will be very minimal. I can remove it any time if I feel it’s screwing up the panels

It’s a fascia trim to make the bottom row look cleaner

Its over 10 years old... its been amazing overall... just upgrading to 2.5x panels and new inverters. Have nothing but great things to say about the schneider though.
