I'm building Solar Truck 2.0. Here's a video of Solar Truck 1.0

I wanted to try something other than using U Bolts on this setup and found references of some people using Stainless Steel cable ties. I found some 500Lb ties that should work well. 4x ties per panel == 2,000Lb holding force. I plan on also putting in a backup method such as paracord like they do for overhead lighting to prevent failure if the original mount fails.

Sanity checking, is using stainless cable ties a bad idea? Any guesses for what holding force that should be needed for this setup?

Think about it this way, what would you say at the deposition when the ties failed and injured or killed someone?
You know bolts will work and are the standard method of attachment, just use them and don't worry about it.
