Bus bar vs copper wire and lugs

I have a 48v lifepo system consisting of 2-16cell 280amh packs.
Some of the bus bars that came with the pack are ruined and it's hard to find them instantly.
Can you not copper wire and lugs them together?
What's the deal with that?
Need my system up and running asap and bus bars are taking a week?
I'd prefer to never depend on bus bars again.

You can use wire instead of bus bars. BUT you can't just wrap wire on them. You need lugs. Use tinned ones because copper directly on the aluminum terminals of the cells can and will result in corroded parts and bad connections.

The bigger question is, HOW did your bus bars get ruined? They should last the life of the cells, really.

Copper bus bar- can they be used once heated up

Recently had some bad cells in a 16 cell 48v pack. The copper bus bars heated up so much some turned dark ,burnt. Can you still use them?
