Combiner Box > Why fuse the negative?

why is it wise to not ground negative, specifically?

my system is negative grounded, and only the positives are on breakers, what is the issue with it. only thing i can think is like brucey mentioned, some inverters may not like AC neutral connected to battery negative?
I'm speaking purely of a combiner box where the negatives are common while the positives from two strings go to breakers and then two sccs (split bus)

The Midnite classic sccs support this configuration. I'm not sure if Victron SCCs do. To be safe I kept the negatives seperated for each SCC. In my latest configuration I'll be fusing both positive and negative as I'm running in the 300V range for the panels. with the 450/100 the batteries are isolated so I just use the power switch to turn it off for the disconnect, then I can open the fuse holders as there's no load and then safely work on the pv cables
