Hi!!!

Why would my voltage on my rv battery read 21.4 all of a sudden?

If generator is on, it reads 13.6.

Currently 50W panel that came with rig is connected to batteries in parallel. Went wonders once we got sun directly overhead.

Just lead acid batteries.

Pretty much a newbie. What kind of troubleshooting could I do so I don’t have to kill the power?

Thanks so much!!!

Is there a charge controller between the solar panel and battery? If not, then there is nothing to prevent the battery from being overcharged. What is the Vmp of your solar panel?

Good question re Vmp, I will have to climb up on rig to find out or find manual.

There is a controller, PWM. My hunch is controller has gone bad.

Thanks for your answer!

I will check on these in the morning!

Haha 😆 I don’t know what you mean by SCC.

Solar Charge Controller?

I just got one in the mail it’s MPPT.

But then you agree with me that it might be my SCC has gone bye bye
If thats the only thing charging your battery, then i whole heartedly agree.

Hopefully you got your RV battery down to a reasonable voltage without too much damage. I'd check the water level if lead acid as that can boil off at elevated voltages.
