Hi everyone. Can i have any advise in buying secondhand Renogy 170ah, which can only be charged up to 90ah, LiFePo4 batteries, please?
What prevents it from being charged more? What charger?which can only be charged up to 90ah,
You will have to open the case identify by accuratly measuring cell volts, the actual cell status, ( one cell is usually much higher or lower than the others). Charge or discharge the problem cell to bring it nearer to the others.advise in buying secondhand Renogy 170ah
Is it common for 2 years old battery showing age? What prevents it from being charged more? What charger?
How do you know its capacity is 90Ah?

Attempt a charge and discharge cycle.
It also possible the BMS will need replacing if the cells do not stay balanced after a few charge cycles.
All this assumes the battery hasn't been damaged.
If the battery is offered at a low price and you want to experiment, but are prepared to take the loss if its beyond saving, then go for it
Not for LiFePo4. There's a bad cell or cells are severely out of balance. Is it common for 2 years old battery showing age?

thank you for your adviseMaybe they’ve been damaged by charging at low temperatures.
90AH for $170 is not that good a deal. You can buy several different brand 100AH for $200 on Amazon. Plus the used batteries are noticeably larger physically & heavier for that 90AH. $125 would be a more fair price. 2 year loss of 40% or so capacity is a really bad thing.

Problems with renogy 170ah batteries
Hi, new to this forum but have built a number of solar systems for motorhomes over the years. I installed 2 x renogy 170ah lifepo4 batteries in my van 18months ago, parallel 12v setup. The battery you are considering may not have lost capacity but because of cell inbalance cannot charge correctly.
