How fingernail polish can be used to waterproof circuit boards

Here is a link to a video that shows how to waterproof electronic PCBs. I have a few modules and voltmeters I am waterproofing that are not marine so I needed to waterproof them. I used clear fingernail polish as shown in this video.

 
I have also tried and approve of lanolin spray . Its alchohol thinned generally so spray on when the circuit board is turned off and leave for an hour to dry off . Seems to work great on boats but don't spray old lead type terminals as it can stop the contact altogether . Amazing really that it does that. I usually spray on some surface spray for insects after that and let dry too.

I use "metallic flake" nail polish as a thread lock on nuts and bolts. It works pretty good!
