Hello everyone,
I have NO ASSOCIATION with USRIOT whatsoever, I am just an end user.
In several of my posts I have provided links to a product family from USRIOT which can take RS232/RS485 and convert it to Ethernet so that the data can be accessed by applications & software such as Node-Red using Modbus or other means. There are many devices that do such conversions and have a variety of functions / capabilities but the USR devices have a "server" which allows extensive configuration for the various inputs. A point of interest possibly, I furtled with this a bit and the Engineering & Support folks at Samlex are the ones who recommended these USRIOT devices to me.
The main website is : https://www.usriot.com/
Downloadable Catalogue in PDF format: https://www.usriot.com/download/Catalog/USR_Product_Catalog.pdf
The first product I purchased has 1 RS323 port & 1 RS485 port: https://www.usriot.com/products/modbus-serial-to-ethernet-converters.html
The newest one I just ordered because I am adding 2 more LFP Packs with Chargery BMS' (RS232) is a 4 port unit (3 for the LFP BMS' and 1 for the Samlex EVO Inverter {RS485}. https://www.usriot.com/products/4-ports-serial-to-ethernet-converter.html
NOTE That there are MANY different types & versions including CANbus interface, WIFI, Bluetooth and more. It all depends on what you are trying to do and how you want things to work.
CANbus to Ethernet converter/Server: https://www.usriot.com/products/can-to-ethernet-converter.html
Before anyone asks: I am unable to discuss or provide the Modbus protocol stack for info Samlex EVO inverters as I am under a Non-Disclosure agreement with them.
Lastly, to access the USR converter, I am using a RaspberryPi running with Node-Red, InfluxDB & Grafana. This also connects to my Midnite Classic-200 via Modbus bringing all the data sources together. This software I am developing is a "by the way, when I feel up to it" project, meaning that it'll be done when I get it done. I "may" make an image available without the Samlex Modbus information module once I have the 3 BMS' & the Midnite Classic all humming the same tune.
In closing, if you are looking at the site and the vast plethora of "Goodies", take your time and carefully read the detailed descriptions and even download the manuals to see if it suits your needs & wants. These devices are "Converters" and as such require an external application to take the data and process it into something useable. They do not come with such an application, it either has to be written or purchased from ???
I hope this helps those on the quest of Renewable Energy !
Have a Great Day Everyone.
