Greetings to all! I am a beginner and I want to assemble the battery myself. I ordered a JKBMS PB2A16S15P board from China. For the test, I connected the batteries according to the instructions. With the 8s running, everything was great. but when I tried to connect 14, the board blew smoke from the balancing connector No. 3.After disassembling the board, I saw burned resistors. And I was surprised that the tracks from connector 2 and 3 are connected together.
I don't have a lot of knowledge in electronics, but there looks like an error in the board tracing and I got a short circuit.
Board version 15.1 made 20240119

You need to find the fault that caused the blow (looks like P8 as only P8 has 2 optional tracks and resistors and you only use either not both).

Once you have sorted out what caused the blow. then

So your choice, bridge the resistor and put a fuse in the line, or replace the resistor. 1/16W 0.01 ohm resistor marked R01 on the board.

Thank you for your reply! It turns out that I can only use the board on the 8s after replacing the resistor without any problems? And if I want to use all the cells, don't I need to put a resistor on the 9th track? And in that case, cell 9 won't balance? I don't understand why jkbms short-circuited cells. I still have time to refund the fee.

I figured out the scheme. The board has two outputs for cell #8. For some reason, the instructions do not say anything about this. Thanks for the help!

The pinouts are wrongly documented too
