Waiting on the quote for 250 miles of grounding conductor - but having trouble calculating the wire ga required for this length...
250million miles... but the hard part is lifting it over the big bright thing every 4 years...
All earthing conductors max wire size is #4
The HARD part is getting the inspector to show up.
Marsing conductors wire size is less.

I expect the combination of cold and lack of moisture will create challenges to create a safe path for stray currents to "ground" on Mars. This was actually a real problem when I worked in permafrost areas of the Arctic, the "ground" didn't conduct electricity reliably.
Yeah, significant lack of groundwater on mars will make resistance FAR above 11ohms...

I think the hardest part would be the delivery of the wire, I am betting the driver would never find the address.
You should see if you can get a grant to study this problem.

it has been studied,
the solution involved directional drilling into areas below large lakes, where the perafrost was significanly thinner/shallower.
Was a big item to get done in a remote locale.

I believe the MEC allows for rods in the regolith, your inspector can just drive out himself if he wants to bitch about it.
We are all laughing, but ive read studies where solar particles cause thousands of volts in certain areas on the moon. Nigh zero moisture will make grounding to shed those electrons... metoric...
