Quattro 48/10000, SOK, ESS Problem

I am bench testing a Quattro 48 with SOK batteries and ESS. When lowering the Settings=>ESS=>Minimum SOC (unless grid fails) parameter it trips the 20 amp breaker on the circuit I am using to feed the Quattro A/C power. This happens even though I have the Quattro=>Input current limit set to 10 amps or less.

I'm new at this so it's probably something I doing. Any advice would be appreciated.

Here is an example of the problem.

Min SOC set to 90%:

From this state, resetting the breaker causes it to trip again.

Just a bit more information:

When I leave the grid off until the the SOC drops below the 80/85% threshold, the breaker no longer trips when reset.
 
What size breaker is tripping?
Are you connected to a dedicated circuit or are you plugging into a circuit with other loads on it?
 
Is the breaker a GFCI breaker?

Did you purchase through CurrentConnected? If so, DM me your order no. / email address and we will get in contact with you directly to solve the issue.
 
Not a GFCI breaker.

I purchased this from Inverters 'R Us two weeks ago. At this point wishing I had purchased from CC instead. I have two units, they both behave the same.
 
Got it, it's not a huge deal.

Do you have an AC clamp meter that you can put on the incoming line to see what the inverter is actually drawing from the circuit? This will tell us if it's truly an inverter problem or if the breaker is just weak (they do wear out). If you have a min/max mode on your meter, use that to catch any surges/peaks.
 
I do not have an AC clamp meter. If you can recommend one I'll get it on order.

I have tried this on two circuits. One is a standard 15 amp house circuit with nothing else on the circuit. The other is a 20 amp washing machine only circuit with the washer not running.
 
Can you run your test (that trips the breaker) with AC Out turned off so you can see how much current is coming in from AC In while attempting to recharge the batteries?

Things have changed just a bit - the SOC is below/near the Active SOC limit:

To exactly duplicate the test I will have to let the battery charge back up by setting the Minimum SOC higher -- and waiting.

I do, however, see similar behavior from this state if I change the mode from Optimized (with Battery Life) to Optimized (without Battery Life), but I don't want to introduce additional variable that might interfere with the test.

Sorry, forgot this was a test bench. I would just unplug the loads. You won’t be able to see the true surge without a clamp meter, but at least you might be able to see what the constant draw is.
 
OK, think I understand. I'll get the battery charged back up and rerun the test.

Will also get a clamp meter on the way when I figure out which one does min/max.
 
The model I have doesn’t seem to be in stock. Here’s the updated version. I figured if I was gonna be messing with this stuff long-term, I should probably invest in a decent meter.

But not every time - so less consistently - when I reset the breaker, it stayed up.

The clamp meter will be here on Thursday, and I'll run the test again and report my finds.
