Question on installing a terminal fuse

I have a terminal fuse im planning on installing on y positive battery terminal. I also have a battery isolation switch from the charge controller to the battery.
Can I simply kill power coming to the charge controller, turn the battery isolation switch off from the charge controller to the battery and just remove the positive cable and install the fuse, or do I need to disconnect the negative also? Of course the inverter would be turn off while I’m doing this. Thanks!

That's what I would do.
Don't forget to isolate any loads from the inverter and to precharge the caps before turning back on.
