I planned to buy current Lithium-Ion battery technology next year for my RV. But, should I wait? I’m leaning towards current technology because this new technology maybe too expensive in the short term. Assuming it proves itself and goes to market.

These are LiIon Cells in a 21700 format for their vehicle packs, they won't be used in their storage side with Powerwalls and it will be some time before any used packs from wrecks etc make it to the marketplace. Panasonic in Nevada (part of the Tesla GF1 Campus) is also ramping up and will be cranking out the 54GW of cells next year.
