I notice the default absorption time is set to two hours fixed for the Li-ion profile. Isn't that rather high? I've seen one source state it should be no more than 15 minutes.

I know it depends on the battery and the manufacturers recommendation but still, that is a wide range. But does it even really matter?

Anyone know what CHINS recommended? Can't find anything about it.

I’m certainly no expert but I’ve had the exact same question. I researched this a fair bit and for my use case (12v 200ah in camp trailer), I determined that it didn’t matter all that much. I currently have absorb time set to 1 hour on the IP22 12/30.

The thing is, if your battery doesn’t need such a long absorbing time, it won’t supply any current. You could also set the tail current but I haven’t bothered doing so.
