Looking for something like Will's 400w classic plus alternator for my Promaster 2500 diesel van conversion. One thing I'd like to add is a shore power battery charging and power option. Suggestions? All-in-One? Currently considering a 12v heat pump, and perhaps a 12v converted hot water heater, to minimize running the inverter all the time.

12v uses 10x as thick wire than 120v. You can easily swap out a 120 or 240v water heater element for a 12v one or drill a hole and get a bung to add a 2nd element so one is 12v and other is 120v.

I once had a welder add water heater elements to a couple kegs and used them on a still to make liquor

Thanks, justinm001. I'll try to keep my runs short to save copper.
