  • Post in thread: Cell prices coming down

That's what I thought! I've asked on another UK based forum where people have bought cells from this supplier (Think banned here? Deriy) but not sure if they are these claimed ones, I flagged a photo of a QR code that looked dodgy from the seller, but I'm not sure anyone has checked properly or...

Here's the Gotion 340Ah cells combined curve from @Reigate :
  • Post in thread: Luyuan battery case

I'm not an electrician.. But you probably mean grounding the cases back to the main DC negative-ground point. Not just the AC Neutral-ground if you have one. - I do as I'm off grid so I have a Permanent Neutral-Earth (PEN) link inside my main generator (to simulate what the grid would have...
  • Post in thread: Cell prices coming down

NKON won't ship DDP to the UK though. ☹️
  • Post in thread: Guidance on Alibaba Trade Assurance, cells not shipped on time.

GobelPower took 18 days to 'ship' my cells, (I think this was actually just booking the shipment to make it look like they were on time, as the ship didn't actually leave for another 5 days or something) they took 46 days until arriving in the UK then 8 days from customs until delivery = 72...

  • Post in thread: Rick's recommended compression containment for EVE cells (LF280K, LF304)

Interesting thought.. But, if the spec sheets call for a specific range of compression at a specific SOC like the Gotion sheet on page one of this thread, then that will account for the increase in pressure by the roughly 11% expansion of the graphite anode at 100% SOC vs 0% SOC. It's quite...
  • Post in thread: Cell prices coming down

Ok strange I tried row 1 and 10, which didn't work for A Grade, but row 2 does, although "Don't know yet" for nominal capacity, what's going on?? If EVE are making 310ah LF280K's why not re name them?
  • Post in thread: Pseudo self-discharge exercise

I'm not familiar with the BMS, but have you checked the settings? See the second screenshot in this thread: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/wrong-percentage-jbd-overkill.75839/
  • Post in thread: Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

Yeah. I have three JK BMS's, each with their own RS485 to USB adaptor, I use this battery aggregator: https://github.com/pulquero/BatteryAggregator, with the dbus-serial driver, see it in my VRM. I have a SmartShunt, but exclude it from the system with the aggregator, so the combined BMS's...

  • Post in thread: Opinions and suggestions for my BMS selection

Get the Inverter JK for simple Victron setup. Or get the cheaper 'older' version JK if you are an advanced Victron user and can command line to install Dbus-Serial Battery. Which is more powerful in function than just the JK Inverter BMS. - But It's not particularly easy to set up, so a steep...
  • Post in thread: 30kWh Envision Import & DIY

Even with an EU VAT number and HMRC customs declaration account? Maybe they didn't like the hassle from sorting it out for Parody!? But most likely the bullshit of Brexit.
  • Post in thread: Seller of Envision 305Ah cells - UK

I'm not sure, but It could be relatively simple for a road trip, we have an allowance up to £390 to bring goods for personal use into the UK, anything above that has to be declared, the link I posted on the other Envision thread tells you how much tax and duty to pay above that...
  • Post in thread: Victron VenusOS driver for serial connected BMS - JBD / Daly / ANT / JKBMS / Heltec / Renogy / Tian / ECS

BMS's are relatively cheap, why not just make 4 x 16s batteries with 4 BMS's if you want to use serial driver?
  • Post in thread: JK BMS Device Address for Multiple BMS's on a Single RS485 adaptor?

Hi, Does anyone know if the newer firmware JK's that allow device address setting can be used to attach multiple BMS's to the same RS485 to USB adaptor? @Nami ? I'm not sure if this setting would only be for the RS485/CAN port or hopefully also the GPS (TTL) port? If the address setting also...
  • Post in thread: 30kWh Envision Import & DIY

It's been all over the news.. I think the 'New Rules' are just the food and plant rules they keep putting off, so shouldn't make any difference to NKON, they haven't shipped to the UK for a while. - Apart from to Parody - I.E. Someone with EU/UK Import paperwork which is a massive hassle...
  • Post in thread: 3x 100A BMS (problem with Multiplus discharge) or 1x 300A BMS?

Well, your three BMS's are currently reporting 38.8%, 38.4%, and 45% SOC, but BMV700 is 100% SOC which is your main monitor, so the LLT/JBD's aren't syncing to 100% SOC, the default config file also has limits for at low SOC, I can't remember if they're on by default, so the LLT/JBD's could be...
  • Post in thread: Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

Green wires heat pad negative, run a separate fused positive to the heat pad, not sure exactly about the red and black, but they're not necessary for a simple heat pad. This guy wires up a 48v pad with relay:

But you told them you had an EU VAT Number and HMRC declaration, still no go? Could be something to do with this: https://www.clydeco.com/en/insights/2023/10/product-safety-law-in-the-uk-and-europe-1

  • Post in thread: Need EVE 280K Batteries: Luyuan? Qso? Docan? Other Companies?

As others have mentioned, you need to open a chat via Alibaba / whatsapp etc and ask for a quote, it will never be the same as advertised, often the shipping and cell prices are automatically more than when you get a quote. I ordered 24 'A Grade' Gotion 340AH cells from GobelPower on Alibaba...
  • Post in thread: 2nd JK BMS dead

Sorry op, you were lucky, please be careful! I don't know how there aren't more battery disasters on here when people don't even look at the manuals or diagrams before wiring together and trying to turn high current capable battery banks on and off! RTFM no? 🤷‍♂️
  • Post in thread: Gotion 340Ah Cells

Did you ask Tewaycell? They should still have the test report spreadsheet for your cells. Ooh, your cells have different terminal posts, maybe a mk2 version as they're newer. Mine:
  • Post in thread: Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

Yeah, it does all work as expected, but it's not for everyone. You need to be able to use the command line and have superuser access in Venus OS, but it's all been done already by someone else, so each aspect has a guide on how to do it, the dbus driver has a good guide and info on Github.
  • Post in thread: 30kWh Envision Import & DIY

Ouch, I hope this has a happy ending for you. ?
  • Post in thread: JK BMS intermittently won't accept charge

That depends on the charger settings, if you can set it to your desired absorption voltage i.e. for 15s 3.45v x 15 = 51.75v or 52v @ 3.46v per cell? But if the charger has float or equalise settings that you can't change, you can easily cook your cells.
  • Post in thread: 3x 100A BMS (problem with Multiplus discharge) or 1x 300A BMS?

You asked for BMS config, not serial battery config. OP showed Overkill BMS config screenshot. I missed OP's response initially, but not clear to me. The default config for serial battery also has some funky settings that need adjusting for full charge and discharge under normal use. Is it beta...
  • Post in thread: JK BMS Device Address for Multiple BMS's on a Single RS485 adaptor?

Thanks for the links. That's for directly using UART TTL from the GPS port and multiple TTL to USB adaptors. I already have three JK UART TTL to RS485 adaptors, one for each BMS and currently have three RS485 to USB adaptors plugged into a powered USB hub from the Cerbo. - All communicating...
  • Post in thread: BMS active balancer becomes unbalancer as cells age

If 3.4375v works for you crack on, how long have you been charging like this, does it seem to work ok, are you sure you're not plating, allowing unlimited current charge for 6 hours will still be able to do it at 3.4375, I wonder how much though? I've not tried it, or seen anyone else ever...
