Northeast/ north central Ohio had some absolutely phenomena lights!

For those of you saying off grid testing isn't really what needs to be seen.... once you compare the performance of some of the better known AIO units during a grid down scenario to a comparable or even smaller off grid unit, you begin to realize that in extended grid outage scenarios there...

They do? The only times that I have seen an inverter overcharge a battery was when the settings were made incorrectly on install..... That would then be installer error. But maybe I haven't worked with enough bottom of the barrel cheap inverters...?? If the battery gives a charge target voltage...

One more note.... Just to make sure that you are aware of this. BMSs are not there to keep inverters from overcharging batteries..... Their whole purpose is to "keep an eye on" the individual cells and shut down the whole battery if there is a cell overvoltage, overtemp, battery overcurrent...

I have 5.4 kw of HT 450 watt bi-facial panels. (12 panels) And I quite regularly see overproduction. Here is a picture of my Fronius data, but just remember these numbers were probably short edge of cloud effect bursts, but still.... Again. This is with 12x 450W bi-facial panels ground...

Wouldn't these specs seem to infer that the heater kicks in at 32° (ambient) and keeps up all the way down to -4° (again ambient). But below -4° ambient it wouldn't be able to keep up anymore...? I would assume (and hope??) that the BMS wouldn't allow any charging current below an internal temp...

Actually, if your batteries support more than 160A you need to do this. That DC breaker is 200A and with derating to 80%, that limits you to 160A. Ask me how I know... :fp2 Suffice it to say that charging at more than 160A results in the DC breakers tripping and causing power outages!

A few things to keep in mind when looking at the whole 200A vs 100A passthrough subject: The goal is usually to have a flicker free transfer to inverter when grid goes down. If this happens you won't find out grid is down, and therefore you won't manually manage peak loads! For a DIY install...
