Yeah, there is entire professions that do this type of design work "not for free." I don't think anyone should be expecting that SS or Watts247 or any of the other "DISTRIBUTORS" should be held responsible for something now working they way you want or thought it should. There are a ton of...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

Yeah I give up…I think when people drop several $K on equipment, they are either deathly mad at the distributor because it doesn’t work the way they understood or deathly loyal to it because it does. I’m not sure I understand the comments about Chinese stuff being used by DIYrs and then years...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

If you believe they should have Code compliant connection diagrams then I don’t know what to tell you. You’re basically asking for an engineered design which no one would do. These are not appliances, should likely have electricians installing them and inspections. Also don’t know why...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

Don’t know why I feel like I’m defending SS…but again. These guys are posting YouTube and engaging with this community a lot to try to help. Don’t buy from them if you don’t like their role as a distributor. @Will Prowse has likely 10x’d their business with his videos on their batteries and...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Chargeverter

    Success!!!
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

They are produced by Voltronics for EG4. They produce these with their firmware and desired upgrades. Again we’re all talking passed each other at this point. My point to even posting on the topic is, you get what you pay for, this is a DIYr forum for people that figure shit out and lean on...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

I mean you asked a bunch of questions about functionality so we’re trying to help, to which we asked for more information. If the device was just faulty okay, but it’s super easy to screw these things up if they aren’t connected properly. Also possible for them to not work if the use case...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

@Old_Skewler are you still interested in getting this working with what you have or are you just looking to return? We haven’t really solved your problem yet. I think it would be helpful to draw out what you have connected so far and how you want this to work. Need to know what loads look...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

I think it’s just professional courtesy to not bag on your competitors in a forum like this. It’s one thing for the customers to come on here and maybe get sideways about their experiences on things, but again to @Will Prowse ‘s post, people come on here a lot complaining about their...
  • Post in thread: Soft Start on 2 Stage AC

Just got this response from MicroAir
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

Fair comment, but I don't think these Distributors should be expected to design systems for people. I agree with some of the comments/complaints, but again they are distributors, not the designer/manufacturer. Many of these devices are designed in countries with very different standards and we...
  • Post in thread: LV6548 SBU mode power consumption

Heard back from Ian on this and he said it’s a “ready to go” 60w consumption.
  • Post in thread: LV6548 output/charger source priority timer settings

@wayne530 worked like a charm this morning!!! Thanks a ton. I'll confirm that the 9PM transition works as well. Just curious are you using LiFePO banks? Just curious why only 70%?
  • Post in thread: HS10048D and Air Conditioning

Yeah, my AC is my heaviest load…so I rarely get over 6kW. 13kW with 26kW surge. With the soft start, the AC on start will flicker LED lights for a fraction of a second. The MicroAir SS is worth every penny so far.
  • Post in thread: LV6548 output/charger source priority timer settings

Just noticed something off... in Solar Assistant I'm showing the Inverter 2 is set to OSO charging, but Inverter 1 is still SNU... as we'd discussed I only input that in Inverter 1. Also verified with I input that timer setting I was set 16 = SNU with timer OSO 09 20. I'm not at home to verify...
  • Post in thread: Is this a bad joke? Signature Solar creating specs requirements to avoid defective inverter costs?

Glad I didn’t know about that! @Will Prowse, I didn't know there was so much drama in DIY Solar!! Here I bought stuff from all you guys and now I just feel dirty…LOL Would it be possible to just stop and maybe be can get back to addressing the OP?
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX-48 LED lights flicker

Can you provide a quick sketch of your ground and neutral wiring associated with your inverters? Example do you have both AC input and output ground wires connected? You might just have a ground loop on your critical loads panel that is causing some ground imbalance in your Main panel.
  • Post in thread: EG4 Solar first, then batteries, then GRID as BACKUP ONLY - How to wire sub-panel and transfer switch

I have mine set up with a transfer switch like that. I’ve had to use it twice now for different issues on the inverters. This allows you to isolate the inverters completely out of the house if you need to.

    @wayne530 FYI
  • Post in thread: Possible to use this as a negative terminal ?

What do you mean by Negative Terminal? Are you talking about equipment chassis grounding block? sorry…edited to say disregard. I didnt read the entire thread before replting

  • Post in thread: Help with setting up AND connecting Solar Assistant software to a LV-6548

You should remove your IP information above.
  • Post in thread: High Frequency vs. Low Frequency Inverter - Does it matter??

I'm running two LV6548s which are HF, combined 26kW surge. As long as you have enough battery capacity couple with the MicroAir you'll be fine IMO. I have a 5 ton Trane with the Micro Air and it dropped my start current down to around 45A. That AC without the MircoAir one grid power would dim...
  • Post in thread: Soft Start on 2 Stage AC

Looks like you’re right on…it’s got some unique design, but fortunately is sound like it will work, but you just have to train it with Stage-2
  • Post in thread: Off grid or passthrough connection

52V is fine, your cutoff is fine down to around 48V. Reference the LiFePower4 data sheet for the settings. You’ll need to pay close attention to how you do the ground connections. A diagram would help a lot. This is mine below.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6000EX.. charge batteries when only 120VAC input is available?

I don’t think it’s fair to say that SS should be providing testing on an use outside of design. You might also be missing that fact that you can’t charge the batteries and have them powering that output of the inverter at the same time. You have to be in bypass to charge. Just get you a...
  • Post in thread: Bus Voltage on AIO inverters

Yeah I understand that... I'm trying to figure out where that 210V is derived from. Also not sure if that is a DC voltage before it's inverted to AC or if this DC range -120V to +120V. Not sure I'm explaining his well.
  • Post in thread: Off grid or passthrough connection

If you plan to run 240VAC loads then you should be using a 2pole 60A breaker. You would want them to both trip in an overcurrent situation.
  • Post in thread: 4-battery bank; one battery is warm

How much hotter is it? The voltages should all be very close. Check current on each to see if the Hot one is drawing more current. @chess-equality is right in that you may have a loose connection or there might be an internal loose connection. Inspect all the wiring would be my first...
