Awesome to hear from another "newish" member. Thanks for the response.
I set up the MPP Solar as a 'agm' battery under the settings:
And if it helps you, or anyone else, here is what the settings are for the WatchPower (version 1.15):
I did the single panel experiment, pulling in nearly 200 watts from each.
My thought with getting a 48v inverter, say a Growatt, is that it would be able to handle more voltage than my current inverter can't.
Thank you! I've been testing all day and wondering the same thing, but being so far from even a decent novice, I'm concerned.
Looking to stick with a 24v system:
Would this work: 24 Growatt 3kW Stackable Off-Grid Inverter | SPF 3000TL LVM-24P.
Literally no idea how to do that one. I'm a complete newbie.
Ah, yeah, gotcha on the 10ga. I have a 10ga yellowjacket. Just splice that into the three colors and put into the AC output, right?
It's finally here!
24P
Growatt 24V SPF 3000TL LVM - 3kW 120Vac Stackable Inverter 2kW MPPT Charge Controller Split Phas
Question: There are the "AC Input" and "AC Output", and I plan to connect a GE surge protector outlet. Which one (green/white/brown wires) do I connect it to?
Question for anyone who can help.
I gave my PIP 2724LV-MR 24 inverter to my father.
The batteries powered the unit up, but it doesn't detect the solar panels.
He has 4 x 100w solar panels in series.
I tested the MC4 connectors, and it shows 47v. When I connect the MC4 to the inverter, it...
Complete and utter newbie here.
I purchased a 2018 Tesla M3 two years ago (before the pandemic), and ever since, I've been contemplating using solar panels to trickle-charge it. Not only that but also my lawn-mower batteries (80amp) and snowblower batteries.
The problem: on a scale of 0-10...
Thanks, a ton.
The Tesla can change its charge rate from (min) 5A to 15A. At least, that is what I was doing off my old MPP Solar inverter. I don't need to do anything over 15A with the Tesla charging.
I'll use the 10Ga Yellowjacket extension cord, splice it into the three colors, and put it...
Thanks for the response!
So, I'm learning quite a bit...
Apparently the batteries are topped at 13.2, even though the cycle use can be at 14.5, but the inverter protects the battery and limits it at 13.2. This also means the inverter wasn't taking any loads and not using any watts from the...
So...I'm thinking once I figure out what I need and purchase the products, I'll come back here and do a tutorial of 'how to set-up a solar panel all-in-one the wrong way'-with the possibility of a video. Hmmmm...who knows.
For now, I found these Solar Panels for sale via Facebook Marketplace...
Thanks to Gelmjw, CuriousCarbon, DoggyDogWorld, Supervstech, 12VoltInstalls, and StuartV.
I'll be purchasing the Growatts this week, and I plan on following up with how everything is working out.
Last question for anyone willing to answer: I am pulling 415-450 (max) from my 4 x 240 (37.2A)...
