You could drill a few small unnoticeable holes in the tree and squirt something nasty in there to kill the tree. Might take a year, but then I imagine you can take down a dead tree :unsure:

So it looks like you have your parallel wire connected to the p- side of the shunt. Therefore, the shunt is not seeing the current of the 2nd battery flowing thru it. Try moving your parallel wire directly to the battery terminal with the shunt sitting on top of that.

Update: Ian swapped out the entire unit for me. (I did have to pay return shipping, which kind of sucks...) New unit installed and behaving much better so far!!! So the problem in the old unit was either a 2nd bad mainboard or another component in the box (inverter, scc, etc.)
