For many locations that is true, until you factor in Snow, 5 months of the year...at least in some areas of the world.
A single axis ground mount with a central pivot is not a lot of moving parts, and it pays to single axis tilt-up for Winter, then tilt back down again for Summer, mostly for the...
yeah I hear ya,
I have never been interested in making videos, and our work on the homestead is purely self-reliance interest. That was part of our motivation to learn about solar as well. We run a successful business, and there is no shortage of work in that regard, but there is more to life...
Nope, we just did a visit to check them out, be sure they are healthy and good natured, I have young grand-kids that come to visit, so I wanted to see the goats and get an idea of how tame they are. Actually these are very nice well trained goats, and the 11-year old liked them immediately so...
My wife and I have made arrangements for some Nigerian Dwarf milking Goats, they will arrive in June.
So off to cut some lumber and get ready for the new members of the homestead. Luckily we have an 11-year-old girl here interested in being the one to look after them, and make some spending...
It is an unknown for now admittedly, I expect we will see far superior batteries long before we have time for 6000-8000 cycles on our LFP. The upgrade will not mean disposal of my current LFP cells, just repurpose them to run something less important in my life. I have the same plans for all my...
I will not be surprised to see a far better battery chemistry on the market within five years. I don't worry about 'cycle life' as a purchase decision parameter. All these cells may have fewer cycles than advertised - we really don't know - however the rate of innovation and the incentive to...
The MPP's still need to link together to be able to create the 120 -240 correctly - if they don't share comms they can not regulate the phase difference.
Each inverter also needs a connection to the SA.
if you are making split phase 120/240 with the MPP 6548's then those MPP's need to have comms between them, each unit will connect with a USB to the Solar Assitant and report loads etc. I added a couple of expansion hubs to allow my solar assistant to have 8 USB inputs. It all works great.
I started wiith one Signature Solar Power 4 100Ah 48v and my second pack was the very first of the Solar Power Store's own (relabled) brand, the first run were quite a good price, also 100ah - both packs have been running three years now daily in my system.
After the first two factory server...
it has been studied,
the solution involved directional drilling into areas below large lakes, where the perafrost was significanly thinner/shallower.
Was a big item to get done in a remote locale.
I expect the combination of cold and lack of moisture will create challenges to create a safe path for stray currents to "ground" on Mars. This was actually a real problem when I worked in permafrost areas of the Arctic, the "ground" didn't conduct electricity reliably.
I have had good responses in the past from a local HVAC shop - when they are not busy they will brake-form sheet metal stuff for me that is too big for me to do with my own tooling. They seem pretty reasonble on the costs. Can't hurt to ask.
