  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

I have the Frigidaire FFRE0533S1 5000 BTU window unit. It has the lowest power consumption of any I could find. The max it uses is 410 watts, it has a soft start and an ECO mode that doesn't run the fan when cycling, except for 20 seconds every 10 minutes. When in cool mode and cycling the...
  • Post in thread: (SOLVED) Solving the climate control crises

It's 24.4 SEER. I messaged that guy when he first put out that video and he couldn't or wouldn't give me any specifics regard power usage. Nor does he in the video. Mitsubishi makes a 6000 BTU 33.1 SEER. Model: MSZ-FS06NA MUZ-FS06NA Never seen anyone with a Frankencooler that worked well...
  • Post in thread: Minimizing Consumption

As far as TV's go. You can reduce the watts they use by lowering the Backlight setting. I have a 50" (5yr old / not a smart TV). Smart TV's use more power. The Backlight can be set from 0-20. At 20 it uses 57.1 watts. 15 - 47.9 watts 10 - 38.8 watts 8 - 35.1 watts 6 - 31.5 watts 5 or below...

  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

Trying to run a 13.5K AC on solar is nuts. The wattage it uses is probably around 1500. My previous post about a 5K window unit was just to show an option for something more reasonable on wattage. The OP would probably need 2 of them for his trailer. Also if he could section off his trailer...

I was looking at the Mitsubishi MZ-FH06NA 6K BTU 33.1 SEER https://www.ecomfort.com/Mitsubishi-MZ-FH06NA/p65208.html They sent me the below file. But it's above my head. https://meus.mylinkdrive.com/files/M-Series_Engineering_Manual.pdf

  • Post in thread: Smallest Mini-Split?

It was a Midea u-shaped air conditioner. They come in 8, 10, and 12K BTU.
  • Post in thread: Removing rooftop A/C unit - covering the hole?

You can heat weld the seams of TPO. While those that do it professionally use expensive heat guns. Pretty sure a cheap one with the proper fitting will work fine.
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Battery Hookup

    It's a 24v all-in-one inverter. mppt controller, charger.
  • Post in thread: Smallest Mini-Split?

The smallest I have seen is 6K BTU mini-splits and 33.1 is the highest SEER. But I haven't been looking recently. https://hvacdirect.com/mitsubishi-mz-fh06nah-6000-btu-33-1-seer-ductless-mini-split-heat-pump8961.html
  • Post in thread: Removing rooftop A/C unit - covering the hole?

It's pretty cool. I learned about it from watching videos by RV Roof Install YT channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/RVROOFINSTALL/videos
  • Post in thread: Dual-level solar panel roof rack?

Maybe no one has built a dual-level rack. I'll definitely be building.

@aangel Here is a video worth watching.
  • Post in thread: Solar panels 20V over battery bank voltage

The panels are 24.3 Voc each. So 2s2p is 48.6
  • Post in thread: 50Ah Battery on Motorcycle

Yeah, will be getting a jumper. The charger has 2A, 4A, and 8A settings. I changed all my lights out to low-watt LED. Which reduced consumption 50+ watts, so 4A shouldn't be an issue. I think it will work at 8A. Guess I'll find out. If 8A is too much, I could buy 2 of them and run one at 4A and...
  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

He recently put out a second video as well. I commented on the second video asking for details about the actual power consumption that he is seeing. He never responded. My gripe about the videos is he never talks about the temp the unit is set to and amps or watts used based on ambient temp. I...
  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

It says it's 490 watts / 4.5 amps. That's all I really wanted to know. I have a frigidaire that is 410 / 3.8, which is the lowest that I could find anywhere.
  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

What is the make / model of the AC unit?
  • Post in thread: Chins 280 ah VS 290 ah cells

Don't have tools to balance. At $499 / 280 ah, do you even want to bother? Cells plus shipping / BMS and tools will easily be over $499. Even if you purchased multiple batteries, the cost seems minor over the cost of building. Just asking for the average person that's not looking to buy tools...
  • Post in thread: Tesla batteries

Has BMS / 5 years. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/12V-7AH-100AH-300AH-to-1000AH_62040346149.html $265 each + shipping. Shipping to Miami port is $285 for up to 500 kg (30 batteries)
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Battery Hookup

Yea, then the weight is irrelevant.
  • Post in thread: Smallest 200 watt panels?

Does anyone know of any 200w or higher panels that are smaller than 58.7 x 26.8?
  • Post in thread: Solar setup needed to run RV AC 13,500BTU

This guy has an Ameri-lite 25 ft bunkhouse trailer and uses 2 of the Frigidaire FFRE0533S1 5000 BTU window units. However, a mini-split may be more efficient and something I would look into.
  • Post in thread: Anyone using Rich Solar 24V 200W panels?

Did you end up purchasing? I was originally considering getting (2) trina 410 watt panels and making a rack for my SUV where the bottom panel would slide out and both panels tilt. I'm now thinking of getting (4) of the 200 watt / 24 volt rich solar panels. There slightly larger than what I...
  • Post in thread: Sterling Power 12v to 24v battery/battery charger

No, I haven't. The Sterling Power is 37.5 amps VS Victron 15. If there are no issues using the Sterling Power, I just assume get it.
  • Post in thread: Powering a mini split

Nope, he will tell you there are too many variables. I contacted him when he first put that video out.
  • Post in thread: Run System Without Battery Bank?

  • Post in thread: Powering a mini split

Outside temp and how well your rig is insulated needs to be added.
