That is a Trace TC-60 or part of an E-panel known as a PC250 which I am still using today, to be replaced this spring, nevertheless a pretty good PWM charge controller.

Outback Power has some older 1500 watt inverter chargers but are not current production. The Outback APCU 2648A has also been discontinued, so I would end up with an orphan product. It would be great if a manufacturer would make such a product. I may have to move up to a higher power inverter.

That is a possibility, but surge is usually brief and sustained overload can last a minute, I think the Phoenix ran out of beans.

I have never seen any type of conduit installed outdoors that is watertight, that is why you install low point drains and install correct wiring for wet locations.
