    Eg18kpv box needed

Are you an inverter packaging specialist? If they won't ship you the replacement first so you can use the box to send back the defective unit, place it in any box that it will fit in, slap the return label on it and send it back. Under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act of 1975 it is the...

Adding another charge controller to my Growatt 12kw inverter with 1000 ah's of prismatic lifepo4 cells

It will work just fine. I'm running the 8kw Growatt and the same SC48120 controller and everything plays fine together.

    Poor experience with Sol-Ark 15k

Take them to federal court and sue them for violation of the Magnuson Moss warranty act. The product does not operate as advertised and they're refusing to help you under warranty.

What will be your next purchase? Living on a budget

Just went to CED Greentech yesterday and picked up 8 more panels to add to the system. No more solar budget for the foreseeable future but we shouldn't need anything else. Just wanted some extra production for the two months during fall/winter where we fall a little short, but there is that...

My Signature Solar Experience (not good)

The picture says it all. None of that equipment is outdoor rated so I'm surprised it lasted long at all. You should be going after your "installer" for a resolution as none of this is the fault of Signature Solar.

Price dropped again to $1150 💪 12kw Growatt 12000T DMV MPV low frequency inverter

That is incorrect. These are indeed true low frequency inverters manufactured by Sigineer for Growatt.

    EG4 warranty question.

Look, James Showalter owns both companies and James can make or break this entire transaction. If he really cared, he'd simply take care of it for you. I've had nothing but good transactions with SS but it's things like this that keep me from buying anything else from them or one of his...

    Solar Sovereign/EG4 18k

Are you a heavy inverter packing and shipping expert? I know I'm not and I would not be willing to accept the liability involved if something I strapped to a pallet came loose in transit and potentially injured someone. So, understanding what I just said, demand that they send you the...

Scored a heap of lead acids next port of call.

Best advice I could give you is to sell them to someone else or turn them in for scrap value, because trying to use them in a 48v system will be a total nightmare. Good luck.

    Solis Inverter vibration issue..

My Growatt inverter did something similar with a fan vibration you could hear radiating through the wall of the garage. I fixed it by replacing the fan with one of much higher quality. If replacing the fan isn't an option, try mounting the inverter on rubber isolation mounts to decouple it...

Using JK-BMS. Do I need a smart shunt?

As part of my system I have the Victron shunt reporting to Home Assistant and I use that data to tell the inverter, which is also connected to Home Assistant, exactly how I want it to behave. I also have a Chargeverter that's remotely controlled via Home Assistant so on a stretch of cloudy days...

Using JK-BMS. Do I need a smart shunt?

Smart shunt is accurate down to milliamps and i use it as the main window into the six batteries at my location. I get the data from the BMS's as well and they're close but diverge at different levels of SOC. So, for a true representation of the overall state of the six batteries in parallel...

my third up in smoke story, technically its my second timeline wise.. but who is counting?

Head on over to www.smokstak.com and ask in that forum. Lots of people there with tons of generator knowledge.

Victron Touch Screen why is it doing this?

A full description of every piece of equipment you're running will help someone answer your question. Aside from the batteries, we don't know what you have.

    Battery Post Heat

How much current are you pushing through that fuse, and what amperage rating is the fuse? Fuses will and do dissipate heat and the amount of heat will increase as you get closer to drawing its rated value. That's how fuses work.

Signature Solar Experience, Bad or Good

But wait a minute. There's always the "upgrade program" where you have the glorious opportunity to give them more of your hard earned money in order to replace what is now a known defective POS product.

    Hydraulic Table Cart?

I own both versions. Spend the extra money and get the 1000lb unit. It's more sturdy, lifts much higher and is a very good lift cart.

    Exploding Delta Pros

Sounds like it was wired wrong. Did your electrician connect the neutral from the Ecoflows to the neutral buss bar in your main panel?

    EG4 warranty question.

The "funny" thing about this is that both EG4 and SS are owned by the same person, so one company blaming the other for the lack of resolution is pure comedy, and a bold faced lie. Sorry you're having this problem but unfortunately, it's one that has repeated itself here for several years...

Victron Multiplus (surprisingly) couldn't handle this

I'd be willing to bet the electric motor on your splitter has a capacitor or two in circuit. A separate start and run cap. Check each one to be sure they're within spec because if they aren't, that can create a situation where it will draw excessive current. It would run fine on grid in this...

Thank you Jess for that perfect answer. Now we know a new version is on its way.

EG4 18K anomalies in logging or something to actually be worried about.

I don't have an Eg4 18k(wish I did) but I think you might be seeing the same garbage data that I occasionally see with Solar Assistant like in the graph above. I don't even have my inverter connected to the grid but SA seems to think it is. If those spikes were real I'd have some angry...

Growatt SPF 12000T DVM-MPV MPPT Failure

All on the same instance. Since it's connecting as an SPF device, Solar Assistant just sees it as another SPF series inverter. Home Assistant is awesome and interfaces nicely with Solar Assistant via MQTT. I recently put Wombatt on a Pi Zero 2W and interfaced it with my 6 EG4 batteries to...

Growatt SPF 12000T DVM-MPV MPPT Failure

You can set up the Growatt charge controller in Solar Assistant as an SPF inverter. Solar Assistant will correctly report everything that both MPPT's are generating but that's where it ends. Trying to adjust the controllers settings via Solar Assistant will not work since it's not an inverter...

Announcing wombatt -- monitoring batteries and inverters

Thank you for making this! Just got Wombatt up and running and sending data via MQTT to Home Assistant. Now Solar Assistant, a Victron shunt, Growatt inverter and 6 Lifepower4's are all living happily under one roof. It's so nice to be able to see all that battery data in its own dashboard.

Growatt SPF 12000T DVM-MPV MPPT Failure

I believe that board came straight from Ian's inventory as there's little chance a replacement board made it to you that fast from China. Ian has been selling various Growatt boards on eBay for quite some time now trying to offload his inventory.

ok, help me fix my heat pumps

I'll give you the best advice of anyone out here. Just pay someone who knows what they're doing to check out your systems for you. In the long run it will save you money along with give you the peace of mind that the work was done correctly.

    Growatt 12k wiring with chargeverter

The only place you bond neutral and ground together is in the main panel. The Growatt creates its own neutral from the center tap of the transformer so you'll be running that neutral all the way to the main panel where you'll connect it to the existing neutral/ground bond. You'll also want to...

Possible to top balance these lifepower4 batteries?

Batteries don't charge to 101%, they max out at 100%. Don't trust the data coming from the BMS as they're rarely accurate. Also, Solar Assistant is great but there is an error in the math he's using to calculate the battery stats. Check out the batteries using the BMStest software and I...

Problems with EG4 6500 Inverters and Signature Solar's refund policy on defective equipment

Contact a class action lawsuit attorney and sue them on behalf of everyone they've injured by selling this defective line of inverters. There are far too many reports of "issues" related to these units and it is time that they're taught a valuable lesson about product development and customer...

So I am going to try my hand at reconditioning lead acid batteries...

It's not that "it may not work", more like it will not work. Take it from someone whom has tried all forms of reconditioning. EDTA, epsom salts, rinse wash and repeat, etc. Once they're sulfated they're dead. The Pakistanis know it which is why they replace the plates and trust me, if there...

Signature Solar and Panel Pallets, Expected Better

This is in no way the fault of Signature Solar. All the blame falls on the shipping company and how they handled the last leg of delivery.

    Eg4 Lifepower4 replacement BMS.

Looks good to me although I don't remember having to remove the resistor. Take lots of pictures and most importantly, take heed of step 7. Tape up the positive and negative leads so they don't short out!
