Blue Sea System Power Bar 1000A cover

Anyone using the Blue Sea System Power Bar 1000A as a main bus bar for paralleling LifePo battaries? The cover that comes with this buss bar is really nice but its a royal pain to get off even outside of the wiring trough. Once I install it into the wiring trough it will be nearly impossible to get off without braking the 4 clips. Should I just break the four clips off and screw the cover on via the two holes in the top of the cover that go through the bus bar? I know this may be a dumb question but I didn't see any information about the cover on their website or in the materials I received. Any response would be greatly appreciated.

If it's inside an enclosed wire trough, the cover isn't required.

See if you can find plastic acorn nuts in the hardware drawers at Home Depot.
