Confused about inverters.

I am building a 100 amp lipo battery box and want to be able to plug in a 1200 watt inverter.

Will a 45 amp Anderson power pole connector work for that? The small ones that clip together.

I understand W/V=A, but I am confused about 12v input amps vs 120v output amps as it relates to inverters.

100 amp lipo battery box
Really lithium polymer (the explody kind?) or is this what the cool kids are calling LiFePO4?
100Ah (amp hour, a capacity)

Regarding the amps, its easiest to talk about such things in terms of watts (and watt hours) which are voltage independent (because your example is converting voltages too).

Assuming your battery is "12V" or 12.8V nominal (as most are):

1200W inverter / 12.8V battery = 93A load
A 45A INPUT connector, wire or fuse is woefully small and prone to catching fire.

To follow thru with your question for inverter OUTPUT:
1200W / 120V = 10A and a 45A connector is just fine.

1200 watts / 85% estimated inverter efficany / 10 worst case volts = 141 amps on the 12v input side, no way the 45 amp power poles are going to work at 12v

Multiply x 10 the 120V amps...

For watts, multiply load wattage 1.25 then divide by 12 for amps.

So...
1200W which the inverter is capable of outputting would be 10A at 120V, 125A at 12V...

In other words, NO a 45A Anderson will not supply battery power to that inverter safely.

So, I would also need a 150 amp switch or higher.
Maybe I will add a couple of heavy duty terminals on top for the inverter.
I scavenged the LIFEPO4 prismatic cells and BMS out of a Dr. Prepare 100 amp battery.
Too bad it has a sealed case and not one you can unscrew the top.
The cells are small and case is large enough to add all sorts of outputs.
Thanks

Post pics.
Autopsy pics are welcome.
Projects can be scrutinized for the better.

Photo of the inside of the battery case with the top cut off.
The cells are on their sides.
Dense foam packed around the cells with adhesive hold everything in place.
The BMS was held on to the calls with double stick tape.

Im using this :

which is a sb120 aka 120 amp anderson connector on my mower to power my inverter. I ended up getting a battery for the inverter and never used it but once and it worked :)
