Question: how do you determine when a LiFePo battery is in need of a recharge?

If you look at the following Pb acid .V. lifepo DoD graph: https://www.thepilotgroup.co.uk/lithium-ion-battery-vs-lead-acid-battery/

it's reasonably easy to infer when the lead batt could do with a recharge. Do you even need to do that with a Lifepo considering they can be discharged down to minimum.
Considering 'best practice' for discharging any battery what's the consensus on this>??

Charge when you can. Charge to full atleast once every week or two in order to keep the cells balanced and SOC estimate close.

We get a lot of sun over here. Maybe a couple of hour a month :( I'm trying to avoid using a charger and would rather rely on the performance of the kit/conditions to dictate.
As I appreciate, it's not going very well.
