Hey all..
I have a EG4 6000XP on the way. I want to connect it to my fifth wheel 30amp TT plug. I have 8 420 watt panels installed & no battery yet.. I’m a rookie at Solar but not in other jobs or life & I need help.
I’m off grid in Baja and I need it to be as simple as possible, since I’m out in the desert & time/materials are difficult to come by. The Solar panels are perfectly mounted on a shipping container beside my fifth wheel trailer which is also permanent. I need to know exactly what cables, junction box/breakers or plug adapters I should bring down to make the connection from the EG4 to the 30amp plug. The batteries will either be EG4 pro pack or SoK pro pack 2 batteries. No internet or support around me. The battery’s will arrive next month. Whatever you got I would really appreciate your time. Fifth wheel has one A/c fridge, microwave, tv 34’ Fun on the sun and sand in you toes. Thanks

EG4 6000XP is a 240/120V split phase inverter and the RV plug is 120V, 30A. Only 3 wires, 1 Hot, Neutral and Ground will be used for the RV plug leaving a spare Hot.
You probably don't need the 4 prong to 3 prong adapter unless you want the surge protector. If so, probably should install a ground rod.

My suggestion would be to connect the inverter into a standard 4 wire, 120/240V residential subpanel. Then install a single pole 25 or 30A branch breaker and wire up a 30A RV receptacle and plug the RV into that.

That leaves the other hot leg (and bus bar) in the subpanel that could be used for a few outdoor duplex receptacles or a 2 pole breaker could be installed if ever there was a need for 240V.

Keep in mind, each of the Hot legs is only going to supply 3,000W (25A @ 120V) or less depending on how the inverter responds to off balance loads.
