I'm looking for a new/good-used 5 KW SMA SB5.0-1-1SP-US Sunny Boy inverter (either -40 or -41 version). If anyone has one, or knows where I can get one, please let me know.
Thanks!

Is there a specific operational reason why the second inverter must be identical to the existing one? Trying to learnAn expansion for an existing system with the same inverter.
That's makes sense. Copy.Mostly convenience. I have existing local SMA-protocol monitoring that I would like to piggyback on, I need at least 5 KW, and I have conduit in place for connecting a matching inverter.
There's a new one available in Southern California. The seller might be able to arrange shipping.I'm looking for a new/good-used 5 KW SMA SB5.0-1-1SP-US Sunny Boy inverter (either -40 or -41 version). If anyone has one, or knows where I can get one, please let me know.

New SMA Sunny Boy 3.8 and 5.0 inverters - general for sale - by owner - craigslist
I have two new in box SMA Sunny Boy inverters, bought for jobs but didn’t end up getting used. One SB5.0-1SP-US-41 and SB3.8-1SP-US-41. These are regarded by many in the industry as the best...inlandempire.craigslist.org
These were designed for grid-tie use. There are new models from SMA that can be used in both grid-tie, and with batteries, but other than "AC Coupling" to another battery-capable inverter, these can't.A neighbor of mine has two of these that were installed by a company. The system is paid off and he now wants to add a battery bank. I've looked over the installation manual and am not seeing a direct utilization of batteries except through the use of a relay... charging relay?
Am I missing something or are these just not designed for use like an AIO?
