I am currently designing a new 48v LiFePO4 battery using LF304 cells and a JKBMS PB2A16S20P.

I intend on using a TOMZN 2P DC 600V DC Solar Molded Case Circuit Breaker as my main disconnect\breaker but my question is do I need to put a fuse between the battery positive and the BMS. This wire seems to be a larger gauge than the balance wires so i'm not sure the wire itself will act as a fuse.

Cheers

I think probably most don't. How belt and braces you want to get is up to you. It would certainly be "better" to do so.
