I received my all-in-one and it is heavy (80 lbs.). My plan is to install a 4x8 strand board and some hardi-board over the Sheetrock. I’m going to use heavy duty toggles going through all the layers to support the inverter.

Does this seem reasonable? Any suggested alternatives? This is from the manual

Mounting the Inverter
Install the unit using all three screw holes. Use #8 (M4) or #10 (M5) screws.

Don't use 'strand' board. Use ⅝ plywood.
Just curious as to why? Suspect the 5/8 plywood is stronger than the strand board? Reading online suggests OSB and plywood are equal in strength. Are you then suggesting screws through the hardi-board into the plywood rather than heavy duty toggles through all the layers?

Yes. Plywood holds the threads of screws better than OSB.
Yes. I am suggesting large screws through the Hardi board into the plywood, hit a stud if possible on at least one.
Plenty
