I've been attending the University of YouTube... watching Will's video's has made me change what I thought I was going to to with my RV. I have a 15 year old 27' Class C toy hauler that has a garage in lieu of a rear bedroom. I also have a 1,600 # hydraulic lift. I'm leaning toward a portable system mounted to a heavy duty hand truck that I can plug my 30A RV plug into or can move to a tent/cabin/home/shelter as needed. I'm sold on the MPP Solar LV-2424-MSD off-grid all-in-one system. It's sized for my existing 30A RV system. My question has to do with batteries. No question Battle Born has the best battery out there right now, but 2 batteries for 100Ah is pricey. I have found a 24V 4.1kWh LiFePO4 "BYD BOX" rated at 220Ah for $900. Spec sheet attached. Has anyone had any experience with one of these? Will... you're nuts enough to tear into a brand new Battle Born... want to try one of these too? They are supplied by someone you recommend. I don't want to share a link because they might get sold out. 24v 4.1kWh battery.jpgLOL

Welcome to the forum...

Quite a few of us have been purchasing these BYD Lifepo4 batteries for many months. You can follow the thread here: https://diysolarforum.com/threads/cheap-4kwh-lifepo4-batteries-from-battery-hookup.1496/

They have been available for purchase without the metal case for as little as $360 plus shipping if nec, and are currently avail for $496 with shipping included. https://www.batteryclearinghouse.co...h-battery-pack-ev-commercial-solar-power-pack
Thanks. I did see those too. The case shown in the Data Sheet I attached threw me off. The BMS is already installed in that $900 unit. I'm going to have to find out if that installed BMS has low temp protection.... I'm sold on the MPP Solar All-In-One Off-Grid LP-2424-MSD for it's portability potential. I'm probably better off just sticking with a couple Battle Borns until low temp protection becomes a standard feature in the BMS's used for these drop-in LiFePO4 batteries.
