I just switch over my system to victron solar controller and lynk distributor and a new battery. I was doing some work this morning, so shut off my bluesea 6006, I always check for power and yes volts coming through, is this because the solar controller is feeding the battery? So I should turn off the solar controller too. Switch works fine double checked that. Disconnected lynks and tried switch with just positive from battery. I had a renogy solar controller with no off switch, so I think I get it now.

Yupp gotta turn off the solar too. This is why I don't have those on/off switches and just on the 12v and 120v load side.

Hopefully you have a switch between the solar charge controller and the panels- “turn the sun off” switch. If not, in the Victron app for the SCC
There is a “Charger enabled” switch in the battery settings page, you can turn the charger off there.

I do what @Rocketman suggested, & disable the Victron charger with the software APP. It is a good practice to do this before disconnecting the Battery from the Solar Charger;

  1. Disable Victron MPPT via software
  2. Then disconnect panels ( no load )
  3. Then disconnect Victron MPPT from Battery
Hooking back up ,,, just reverse order ( as the charger should already be disabled - but once the battery is connected the charger is “viewable” & you should verify it is disabled before connecting the Solar Panels;

This is what “Enabled” looks like ,,, to “Disable” the position of that onscreen slider switch is on the “left”

Go here “Settings” & click on “Battery”;

Then you can “Disable”;

I wonder if you used a Blue Sea 9001e ( 4 way ) in this manner 🤷‍♂️?;
#1 Battery
#2 Solar Charger
Load to Lynx

Years Ago, I discovered these 4 way switches ( @ the time ), were only $5 CAD more than the On/Off Blue Sea Switches ,,, Even if I am only using 1 input I always buy the 4 way switches. The Caveat is I design my 12vdc stuff & know how it operates, so I won’t / shouldn’t screw it up ,,, but there is always hope 😁.

I even used it on my Portable Solar Charger;
