If I bought eight cells how would that compare to the two BB 12v 100aH batteries I bought. I'm trying to power a portable air conditioner. I have a 24v system and wonder if I would be better off with a 12v system. How would 16 cells compare?
Wjm1964, here is another question that relates to unexpected consequences and will electricity fry my gear.
If the solar panel wires to my three panels is 12 awg with an ampacity of only 25 amps AND I have all three panels in parallel AND they have a combined short circuit current of 32.07A...
How much cheaper are they if you buy a pallet of panels? I currently have four 100w Renogy panels on top of my van. Would like to increase to about 1000w (ball park figure). Any recommendations on brand or model?
Thanks. I got this message:

How do you like Pioneer 9,000 BTU 115v Under-Bench RV Heat Pump Air Conditioner. It looks like it would fit inside my Ford van with little or no effort; I don't even think I would need to run ducts. How does it work in the Summer in very hot conditions?
Below, is all I could find in the manual. Maybe someone more familiar with solar charge controllers would know what this means. If the controller's charging input is limited when you connect three panels in parallel because of constant voltage there is something wrong with this technology. I...
Disagreement. I do not believe that I was sold true grade A cells; however, and I am not happy with the value of the cells I received from a reseller in Harrisburg, Virginia
Anyone know where you can buy one cell? Maybe a gasoline generator was a better option than solar power. The 400W project didn't produce much power and I doubt if the 16 cells will ever pay for itself or save the world.

I'm not entirely sure I'm following these two questions, can you clarify?
I was wondering what the differences are between a shunt and a (black) negative bus bar. I believe the shunt is attached to the battery negative terminal and various monitors are attached to the shunt. The shunt and...
I agree. I tried to find an MPP but the website appeared to have shipping problems and there may have been people who paid and did not know when they would receive their units. Buying the parts for this system at the lowest prices I could find has required constant attention from shipping...
Those are your words, not mine. Try the easy "some tangent" first and before disconnecting the battery and "dealing with it," is all I'm saying.
Here is what I'm talking about. The attachments are from the USB modules, one for each 8s BMS, and this software shows 71% battery capacity. Not...
I ordered this these from Amazon thinking the 6 referred to 6mm. Imagine my surprise. Overkill writes me and says they have no problem finding the right connector at Home Depot. I zipped my lips shut. Is anyone getting a connector they are happy with? What is it...
I bought this AC unit out of desperation: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DQVNSP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is big, heavy, and takes up valuable space. It stands up and is designed to use a horizontal window; our van exit doors are push out windows. So, it is...

Thank you very much for the diagram and...
There is an explanation of the safety "requirements" for solar panels in parallel here: https://diysolarforum.com/resources/fusing-wire-sizing-guidelines-for-solar-panels.143/ I really could not figure it out. Other strings on the subject of over current protection devices mentioned combiner...
Will 20 amp inline fuses on the three positive wires protect the 12 awg wires on the solar panels, that have an ampacity of 25A? The three solar panels in parallel have a combined short circuit current of 32.07A. The object being to connect the PV wires with 3 to 1 connectors before connecting...
As far as cost, I am kind of shooting from the hip. I had the two 63A breakers laying around and just found out that 12awg can be fused at 20A, thus the inline fuses. A junction box and grounding busbars at Home Depot and the 6 awg wire and MC4 on 12 awg wires would be the next thing to buy...
Is this fixable? Seven cells are charged to 3.69 to 3.71 volts. I have the EBC-A40L Charge Dischage Capacity Tester though I have not used it enough to know much about it. How to discharge these over charged cells to 3.60 volts is the problem. Suggestions?
The Samlex 2224 Inverter Charger panel has Output Neutral, Output GND, and Output Line; I believe this is where I get AC from this huge inverter. I bought a range box (2G 34 CU adjustable), receptacles (15A grounding duplex outlet), and switch (15A Single Pole Toggle Switch) today at Home...
Edit: RAI does have the RAI-GFCI-109-B Through Panel Circuit Breaker and GFCI AC Outlet or (possibly) manufactured and shipped one today. So, tomorrow it is off to Lowe's to get the 12/2 whip. Thanks HaldorEE.
I've indicated that I have no idea what to do with the battery break. I am trying to build a solar system; need the system to social distance in my van. Do not need a DIY self-taught electrical degree and do not desire to stop at every motel between Virginia and Cali. The title of the video...
Are there any down sides to going with three Qcell 430W solar panels and what is the best way to wire them for my 24v system? I have an Epever Tracer4215BN (40a) model solar charge controller.
All four panels in parallel and they have a combined short circuit current of 21.36A (5.34A x 4) and if your SCC has a maximum PV input current of 30A per the manual under test conditions, there is no over-current problem. You are good to go.
So to get more time add more batteries and wire them in parallel. I've got a Samlex EVO that cannot run an AC more than two hours. Now, it can't run the AC at all without alerting with a Battery Low Voltage alarm. Can I add a cheaper 12V battery to the bank?
Thank you Dzi. Does this mean I need to buy a breaker box and breakers? Will needs to do some serious changes; circuit breakers were not in the videos and there were no qualifications that his videos were just ideas. Appreciate your advice!
