I’ve been off for about six months now in a community in Mexico. I have a solark 15k 17,500 W of production, and 60 kW of storage. so far, I’ve been living a normal life. I have all the same things I had in the states except that the power only goes out when I flip the switch or potentially when...
I wanted to share with the community how I was able to get Solar Assistant "SA" to read all my inverter data from my Sol-Ark 15K, AND also read all the individual battery data from my EG4 LifePower4 batteries so I get the best of both worlds, thorough data from "each" of my 12 batteries and all...
I don't want anyone to get upset or in trouble, but I got this quote/purchase simply by picking up the phone and calling Greentech. Maybe they were having a sale, or maybe they have better buying power, I dunno, but they were the best price and as I said less than an EG4 18K.
From my...
I love SolarAssistant (SA), if I had one complaint it's that they don't yet allow you to monitor multiple battery types. You can add multiple inverters, but you can't monitor multiple batteries.
For example, what I'm looking for is a way to read the EG4 battery data directly, and then at the...
I’ll give you the standard answer buying things from companies that don’t have a track record and you don’t commonly see here in the forums comes with a lot of inherent risks you’re better to stop pinching pennies and just buy something that works. Let someone else be the guinea pig on...
I am thankful I didn't use EG4 inverters, and I couldn't be happier with my Sol-Ark. (y)
I did finally get an answer to this from Sol-Ark, basically, the CTs measure the current via a magnetic field and will never be as accurate as a shunt that measures the current traversing a physical...
While I've had some minor service issues with Signature Solar, and others have had varying degrees of challenges. I would encourage you not to get too hung up on the little details. They're a business trying to satisfy customers, they don't always get it right and they never will, however, they...
IMO Solar Assistant is essential, the PV Pro can't give me estimated run time, charge percentages per-hour, details on each battery, and it's only updated every 10 or 15 minutes. It is way too slow to closely monitor things when you need to see spikes in near real-time to only pull data every...
I saw one of your gauges has smoother colors while the others are the standard (green, yellow, red).
If found this little tool and it's so freaking amazing, I've got beautiful full smooth colors for all my gauges and I can easily set the ranges etc with this...
I’m not aware of a good thread in the forum regarding shunts, but if you’re gonna run those standard EG4 batteries that cannot communicate their state of charge to the Sol-Ark you might want a shunt.
Also it’s not Sol-Ark, it’s EG4 who chose to leave the communication out of the regular EG4...
@Watts Happening I believe you'll need the hub even for a single battery unless they're the EG4_LL batteries that have Sol-Ark speak built in. FYI, I read your 18K post, so glad I determined the product wasn't mature and simply went with Sol-Ark to start, my 15K is so awesome, and best of all...
You really need the manufacturers load specifications to be certain. I presume someone that engineer that trailer can tell you what the maximum roof weight could be.
One thing I noticed in your drawing, is that you only have one pair of +/- wires coming from your batteries. The Sol-Ark 15k has two sets of DC breakers each 200a. If you want to get the full power from your batteries, you will need to merge the two wires from your batteries at some point...
I'm seeing what looks like 5 minute increments to the energy meter, not sure why the template is once an hour. I'll try it with something that updates more frequently and see what happens.
I concur I didn't purchase mine from Amazon, it's just easy to link to. You can use www.currentconnected.com or as you mentioned any solar supply store.
@Markus_SignatureSolar Question, now that the issue has been reported and confirmed, what is the expectation for a solution? Are we talking about a few weeks or a few months?
I've not had any experience with reporting issues with EG4 equipment and I'm just trying to get a feel for what urgency...
That tool/site looks at the distance which many amp rating charts do not. Having oversized conductors isn't a bad thing, it might cost a little more, and in some cases is preference. Thicker wire will run a little cooler even at short distances with constant amperage flowing.
If you want some...
I haven't personally seen the size of the breaker lugs but having (2x) 2/0 AWG wire in there probably won't fit, so however, your run your jumper, unless you use smaller wire it probably won't fit under the lugs on the jumper source. It's also my understanding that if the jumpers extend the...
I had a brain fart and just now realized what the Polaris connectors are, you could use those in front of the Sol-Ark to double up the connections. Sorta like the image blow.
Over the weekend I conducted a test to confirm how this is behaving on my 12 EG4 LifePo4 Batteries (60 kWh or 61.44 kWh) with a 15K Sol-Ark and the EG4 Comm Hub in a closed loop with the Sol-Akr.
On Sunday the 27th at 09:25 state of charge was reported by the EG4 Comm Hub at 93%, the same value...
FYI, reading this thread, and I know it's a different product, but it seems to imply this amp draw under 2.3 amps is configurable in the BMS.

I've looked through the testing tool and I don't see a value to...
Just gonna ask since it's not clarified.
Why not just stack the inverters in the main building and run the wires from wherever the new panels are to the main building? Then, connect the sub-panel in your outbuilding to your main building.
Really, then where do all the used Amazon warehouse deals come from? I'm perfectly happy to purchase something someone tried and didn't like/understand for less money.
When I received my EG4 battery racks, there was no need to flip the bus bars, both the top and bottom of each +/- bar has double connectors for main feed wires.
I have been watching Signature Solar closely since April of this year. They have the typical retailer/etailer sales, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Fall, and probably a Winter and Spring sale. The 18K is a new product and they're trying to get it out. They have had sales here/there on it...
It's possible they may have a slightly bigger sale towards the end of the year, but from what I've seen the Sale price is typically always the same. They have a floor for the discounted price and they never really seem to go below that. Sometimes they'll switch it up as marketing teams do and...
I used the San Diego location. As far the Sol-Ark warranty, you get the same warranty if you self install or have someone do it. There is a card/checklist if things they have you do to verify proper installation and then a registration for to activate/validate the warranty.
With basic...
