I am more concerned about high winds, but you can be right. Time will tell. I have done some precautions for ground heave force by hammering (not digging) those poles all the way to 2m deep + some insulation around the poles. Ground frost can be like 1m here, but not on the wheatfield like this...

Nice! I'm over halfway with my panel installation. 25,2kW or 57% is now ready. I'm somewhat happy, but there's still awful lot to be done. Nine more to fabricate.

Now I have full array working and Deyes charging batteries. Everything is a mess and there's a lot of fine tuning to be done, but it is working now and I'm still alive, barely.

Picked up my 50kVA genny today. It's 4 cyl (~4,5L) DI diesel (1500rpm) from 1967 weighting 2000kg. It's missing radiator and fan, but I'm quite sure I can find something from local truck salvage yard. Got also 1500L fuel tank and electric operating cabinet. All for 1400e.

Got all time best today with 340kWh. Lost something like 15-20kWh because last 2,5 hours were cloudy and there was also 2 hours of clipping in the middle of the day. Fresh snow on the ground and -10C. Day is also almost 14 hours long already.

Found my problem today. My Bluesun inverters were connected to main panel neutral, but Deyes wasn't. One wire was missing from the cabinet. Now everything seems to work as predicted, but still need to learn how to configure TOU settings. We have over 19 hours daylight ATM and field is green...

Got 77kWh today so reached my yearly target of 40MWh.

I started fiddling with solar because of money, with absolutely no idea what I was doing. I mean none. Got straight to the deep end with 44kWp vertical "no shadows" setup with 2x hybrid inverters plus 2x AC coupled GT inverters and ~110kWh LFP/FLA batts + 2x UPSs. I DIYed and ordered everything...

Total production for first year is 44,6MWh. Crappy weather for last two months. It did outperform PVWatts yearly prediction so can't be sad.

Only half year experience so far, so long way to go for final verdict. Mid-summer (25C) max yield for ~11kWp string is usually 8,5-9kW (without any cloud lensing effect) and 70kWh daily. Spring sun with snow on the ground got my Deyes to clip (12kW limit then, now with software upgrade should...

Blizzard today. 1/4 production of my array, so from 44kWp there's ~10kW production in this weather. Not bad.

Golden hour. Production steps up for the last two-three hours after being low for three hours due to bad panel angle. Panels would only need a really tiny movement to make huge increase in evening time production. Hmmm...

I got my whole setup working in spring 2023, so I'd say best solar-related "item" I got was education. Didn't know anything about solar and very little about electricity in general. Still long way to go though. Can't say it has been free, but my ROI seems to be around 5 years, so hopefully...

Going slowly forward with solar corner installations. Main electric panel is about 70m from here so this only half of the work needed. Plus the solar array needs a lot of wiring too and some of it is 5m high. It's -20C outside, so working inside... Scrapyard busbars ~10m (alu 80x10mm) 40e.

Here's the busbar setup. Here's few photos of the panel array. I think the backside is actually polycrystalline as it is clearly bluish in color. Don't know if it's just cheaper to manufacture or if there's an actual reason for it. Still need to ground everything when I get the time. Frontside.

In here we always celebrate Christmas 24th December. I think it has to be so because of logistics as this way Santa has two days instead of just one to deliver all those presents. So Merry Christmas to Everyone!!!

108kWh today. It is slowly getting better. Last year, in the beginning of April daily yield was close to 340kWh, so a month or two and production should be quite nice again. 0,75MWh already this month. Nothing spectacular, but compered to Nov, Dec, it is already almost twice that and 20 days...
