    240v Shop Heater suggestions...

Our grid tied Solar system has been up and running for 8 months now and we're way ahead of the curve on selling juice back to the utility vs. what we consume. I have an insulated shop, 10' x 40' (400 sq ft) with 8' ceilings. We'd like to put in a 240v Heater. We don't need to keep this...

grid tie DC breaker went off

no string(s) are parallel with each other. 4 separate strings are fed to the Inverter, a Fronius Primo with 4 inputs

grid tie DC breaker went off

neither of you are making any sense. again, what might cause a DC breaker to flip off?

grid tie DC breaker went off

Our grid tie system is 32 - 400w, 10 amp panels tied together in 4 - 8 panel strings. The DC produced first goes through a DC breaker box with 4 - 16 amp breakers, then to the Inverter. No combiner box....each string has it's own breaker The other day, I noticed that string #3's breaker was...

Residential Grid Tie - when to run energy sucking appliances?

Finally got our 13.2 KW system up and running. Along with washer/dryer, oven, etc., this spring and summer, we'll be running a 5 hp irrigation pump 2-3 times a week (usually 12 hours on a set). Our utility is Rocky Mountain/Pacificorp and their program buys up our unused energy produced. We...

Grid tie Inverter sending too many volts to house 240v panel

thanks for your reply. I thought it could be the case. We're getting dark here and my Panels are producing about 25 percent...Inverter still said 250v. THNX again and I'll also check the Panel breaker tomorrow

Grid tie Inverter sending too many volts to house 240v panel

11.4-1 Fronius Primo has been averaging 249 to 259 volts AC output production. Is this an issue and if so...how can it be corrected? Not sure if it's an adjustment to be made internally with Inverter but Fronius manual doesn't seem to address this issue

Help me understand my Net Meter reading

sooo....last week, Thur. Feb 2nd, Noon, we had our Net Meter Installed. I did not turn on our Grid tied PV system until Noon the next day, Feb. 3rd. At Noon of Feb. 3rd, our Net meter showed ---> 28 kw h consumption from utility Flash Fwd to today, Feb. 10th, Noon: 14 (consumed from our...

PV Label NEC 690.13(F) WHERE does it go?

Our PV plans list it as .13(F). Quite possibly, it's an error THIS is the label (from our plans)

PV Label NEC 690.13(F) WHERE does it go?

We're required to have this Label yet absolutely no "Label Map" addresses or shows this Label Where does it go?

will Inverter use full wattage from the panels?

I read that it's best to undersize Inverters a bit regarding the panel wattage production. as I read it, inverters are more efficient when pushed to their max. Example: Fronius Primo 11.4 grid tie Inverter. Rated for 11.4 kw and operates in a range from 9.1 kw to 13.7 kw. Our Array consists of...

Labeling requirement(s) for AC conduit (grid tie)???

I've looked at all of the NEC stuff...looked at label "map's" etc. Nothing. DC conduits, though, do require stickers. I think you're right

Labeling requirement(s) for AC conduit (grid tie)???

From the inverter, our AC cable is in a conduit, then goes underground, then back up the A/C Disconnect. I know that the DC conduits call for a 1"x4" "Warning - PV Power Source" labels every 4'....how 'bout the A/C conduits?

I finally bought it! Fronius 10.0-1 Primo with 12.7kw Jinko

what NEC standards (year) are you required to adhere to? The Quattro RSD is 2014....most authorities want either 2017 or 2020

use MPPT 2 or not (Inverter)

Mister Sandals, I guess you're referring to the termination of the DC wiring at the Inverter in which, yes, the 4 arrays end up in parallel. I was always under the impression that if one array got shaded, it affected the production of the other arrays. Guess not? and....yes, each string is...

use MPPT 2 or not (Inverter)

all 4 arrays wired in series...with each set of + and - DC wiring going to Inverter. Shading: there's a hill adjacent to the West side of the array setup. with the angle of the sun, Array #1 gets shaded in mid to late afternoon. Can't bulldoze down that hill :)

use MPPT 2 or not (Inverter)

Grid tie, 32 panel/4 array setup. Array #1 on far left gets shaded first (from an adjacent hill) in the mid to late afternoon. Inverter: Fronius Primo 11.4, 1 phase, what has 4 + & 4 - DC ports, plus 2 mppt(2) ports. Since the far left array gets shaded first, would I hook up the DC wiring to...

Roof mounted Rapid Shutdown Enclosure Box

Folks, I'd like to enclose the Fronius Rapid Shutdown "Quattro" Box within some type of weatherproof junction box BUT...having a hard time finding the right plastic box that'll fit the Quattro. Roof mounted Rapid Shutdown Enclosure Box

Folks, I'd like to enclose the Fronius Rapid Shutdown "Quattro" Box within some type of weatherproof junction box BUT...having a hard time finding the right plastic box that'll fit the Quattro. Any ideas? Also, the Fronius Specs say that the RSD unit has to be "within" 10' of the Array. Could...

    a 9 panel in-series single string Array?

OZ solar, I was going off a 9 panel wired in series diagram on the web...problem is, it just showed each panel connected to the other. So..yea, I was wondering about the pos to pos and neg to neg connections. THNX for catching it and veryifying my doubts
  24. P

    a 9 panel in-series single string Array?

Yes, all calculations completed. Our entire panel system is 33 modules, 3 arrays are 8 panel strings, the 4th array (see attached) is 9 panel string (so, this is why I'm inquiring on if my wiring config is correct)

    a 9 panel in-series single string Array?

I also had posted this on the general forum. This grid tied Array consists of 9 panels and I want to connect them into a 1 string, In-Series Is the attached diagram represent the correct wiring? THNX

    Grid Tie Array voltage problems

Hate to 'work' you on a saturday night (doesn't matter when you respond...you've been a ton of help!) but...to wire this 9 panel configuration into a 1 array series, how would you do this? Let's start at zone A from left to right (panels 1, 2 & 3) Then zone B from left to right( panels 4, 5 &...

    Grid Tie Array voltage problems

Ok...Tim, how would you wire (connect) the 9 panels so we'd have panel voltage x 9 and panel amperage x 1 ? For some reason, I'm just punch drunk or something. Isn't taking the 3 +lines and the 3 -lines from each "Zone" and connecting via a 3-way splitter considered a 9 panel array? PS: so...
