Giandel Ground Connection Fail

My Giandel Pure Sine Wave 1200Watt 12V inverter is not passing through the ground. The problem appears to be the AC receptacle design. The ground contact is just not connecting to the AC plug. Has anyone else had this problem?

The ground contact (Australian socket) on my Giandel 24v inverter makes contact with the pin on the plug, so I'm interested in seeing the problem too out of sheer curiosity.

It's hard to get a good picture. The circled area is the only area there is a contact. I've ohm'ed it out and it is grounded, so the contact must not be touching the pin for some mechanical reason. I've tried three different plugs with no success. I'm posting to caution others as I see no easy solution.
