My electric company in WA State allows grid-tie with net metering. Which inverter do I consider, 120v or 240 and why? My panel is 200 amp.

240V for U.S. Grid-tied. You can go with a Grid-Tied, or with a Hybrid if you think you'll want some battery back-up.

What Svetz said.
The home is currently 240Vac, most grid tied inverters in the US are 240Vac to match that home wiring and what the grid delivers.

The better grid tie inverters are automatic, you rarely have to mess with them much.
Silent & automatic.

Like Svetz said, there are options, like battery backup and expansion capability should you want more solar/wind power, but basic grid tied systems aren't that trouble prone or take much maintence while knocking back the electric bill anytime the sun shines.
