Is 3.65 vpc even necessary for top balance?

In the past I’ve got all the cells to 3.65 as a group. Now as I’m about to commission another diy battery I was wondering why bother going higher if they’ll never see more than 3.45 vpc in use and they will always have plenty of balance current and time to bring the delta under.003 with every excursion to absorb. Is there some sort of electro chemistry memory that needs to be set for the long term or if it’s all good at 55.2 leave it be. On the first run, I’m planning to just charge them normal to the knee then back off on the current, and start the balance early and let them take a day or so to normal use end of charge voltage with all BMS safeties on. Do I need to go higher?

I like to top Ballance to a higher voltage than normal charge voltage in order to help deal with any drift that will occur over time. However if the Ballance system's current and Ballance pattern can't keep up it won't help for long and if it can keep up then going to 3.65V probably doesn't matter.
