I building a campervan with a Victron system and as I’m going skiing often, I want my Victron setup to be protected for low temperatures.
I understand you can pair a Smart MPPT with a Smart Battery Sense for low temp cutoff, but it is not compatible with an Orion DC charger. When the campervan is parked in freezing temperatures, I don't want to check the batteries temperature every time we leave. As I think the Orion will start charging once we start driving.
So to be sure all the chargers disconnect while may battery is below 5°C: Is it possible to use the Smart Battery Protect as a cutoff system for your chargers? I would connect my charging devices (MPPT, DCDC and Mulitplus) to the Battery Protect and then use a temperature driven relay as the ‘remote’ on/off switch.
Is this possible or am I missing something here?
