looking for a high seer unit at a good price!
Late to the party but I went on FB marketplace but here in central Texas there was a ton of options. I bought 4 and with installation was $2,400.looking for a high seer unit at a good price!
Both are accurate for different things. Right now with outside temps at 60-68 and inside at 70, seer is going to be a better representation.Isn't EER more accurate measurement then SEER? I have always heard seer is measured when it's 80F outside when you get over 115F pulling power of an AC unit made 30 years ago. Mini split need R410 refrigerant have to add that cost in.
When it's 115f outside the eer is what matters lol but even then don't you have overnight lows around 80?SEER is taken over entire season of use where EER is measured at 95F. I guess I'm only concerned with heat when we hit 119F every summer these units run full blast probably pull the same power as ones built 30 years ago. The rooftop unit I have now which was a 2021 model pulls the same power as the unit built in 1976 on my house 15 years ago when it's 115F outside.
When highs are over 110F for 6-8 weeks in summer the ground heats up. Still 100F at midnight and sunrise lows in the 90s....but even then don't you have overnight lows around 80?
I need one for the solar shed and I'm probably just going to pick up a $500 230v one from Amazon.I'm torn between minisplitwarehouse @1201 mentioned above, a Senville or another Pioneer (I purchased my first one through a 3rd party seller on Amazon).
I'm beyond happy with the pioneer but some units on minisplitwarehouse appear to be identical at a much lower cost.
Thanks to all for an informative thread.
Some humor for some, all my dump loads plus the coal stove on idle got the house to hot during this warm spell... Flipped the mini-split to cool for some comfortable sleeping. The joys of free electricity...
Where I’m at we can have nighttime lows of 80-85 with daytime highs of only 90-95, humidity makes a big difference in that. When it's 115f outside the eer is what matters lol but even then don't you have overnight lows around 80?
