No gambling with the SolArk 15k, look at the forums-plug and play success out of the box for a great many of us without issues or complications.
EG4’s success and support are not even close to equivalent to SolArk and should not be lumped together in the same breath.
I just installed a 15k and used an Eaton safety switch/shutoff, 600v 200A, fused, 2 pole, as main shutoff and first means of disconnect. For switching between grid and and the solar to feed my load panel I opted for the 2 pole double throw/3 position, 600v, 200a non fused, transfer switch from...
Winter Solstice is Thursday December 21st @ 10:27pm EST in. North America this year. This corresponds to Friday, December 22, 2023 at 03:27 UTC.
So yes, depending on your location Winter may start on the 21st or 22nd this year.
I have my SA15k set to do exactly what you’re asking-so I know what it’s capable of. If anything I’d say the warranty service ( not the actual terms or length) of the EG brand would be lacking compared with SA as well as customer service support, knowledge and availability. Look around here on...
Your Sinclair racks carry a UL 2703 rating for grounding conductivity-the rack is assembled with serrated flange hardware and the panels are affixed with serrated flange hardware to the purlins. A EGC from the frame of the racking to a ground bar and then from the ground bar along with your PV...
It looks like a fancy, expensive, stainless steel transfer switch-whatever brand it is.
I installed a transfer switch with my install for much the same reason as OP, but I used a GE version $635 from Home Depot...
FWIW these are my takes from my self installed 15k on NEC 2017
Q1 AC and DC can occupy the same wireway/enclosure as long as nothing exceeds 600v and they are part of the same system. That being fed into the 15k is all part of the system so DV PV and AC load wiring are good to go. Just don’t...
Seemed to me in first glance there should have been an Oxford comma or perhaps a semicolon, after the 15k, in that statement to separate the ideas. Punctuation is important after all.
Re-reading at your request I do see now how it reads your way. Thanks for clarifying.
Not exactly sure at what point the transition needs to be made but HV DC wiring ‘inside’ any building has to be run in metal conduit instead of PVC. So in my interpretation that means the conduit thru the wall and anything inside on the walls of the building. In the case of a roof mounted...
Rained most of the solar day yesterday, did let up after 4pm or so and the evening was hit or miss and just overcast. Today is just overcast so far. Rain forecast for tomorrow again…
You weren’t asking me, but I got mine here as many other sources were back ordered. These are single in with 2 out

I ended up doing blended foundations. I dug 3-4’ holes and hand drove my Sinclair posts the remainder of the way with a pile cap and a sledgehammer in my loamy sand, then also poured the spec’ed 0.75+ cyd of concrete around them. My mount is going nowhere…
200a transfer switches, without fuses, your shutoff/grid disconnect should already be fused, aren’t $2000. Do you have HD stores if your area or can you order from them?

Hey folks-I have a battery charging wiring question for you here in the know.
I have 2, 6x racks of EG4 Lifepower 4 batteries (60kWh total) with my SolArk 15k.
I’ve just used the Black Friday sales to buy an EG4 Chargverter to charge them rather than using my 7.5k gas powered portable...
Those panels are a deal at 35¢/w, SS has some right now that are down around 31¢/w but they’re smaller panels and would require a larger mount.
I’d say if you can swing it and have room to place them-pick them up, you’ll never be sorry having extra generation capacity-it either ensures you...
IIRC, seasons are date based. If you want to have a season set to emergency mode, you’d have to change the dates of two seasons (into the emergency season, and out of the actual one)in order to get your emergency settings to take over from your standard programming.
